A.L. Phillips (authoralphillips) | 4 comments Greetings,
My name is Lynn Phillips and in addition to being a fantasy novelist, I'm a PhD student in marketing at the University of Nebraska. My current research project is to investigate how authors and other creators view and implement various marketing topics and strategies.

For this project, I am looking to interview self-published authors who have their own web page, who conduct some kind of marketing of their book(s), and who have at least thought about developing an "author brand." Interviews (by telephone) would take approximately one hour. This research should eventually prove useful to most new writers who wish to sell their work.

If you would be interested in participating in this research in exchange for a copy of the results, please post in the comments with your email address, or contact me at lphillips @ huskers .unl .edu .

Thank you, and best wishes with your writing.

Sincerely,
Lynn Phillips

Marc Mullo | 9 comments Hello from Canada Lynn, how are you? If you could please email me asap to discuss this further, I'd really appreciate it, thank you for this opportunity, because marketing is one of my definitive weaknesses, sales in particular, even though I'm doing as much of it as I can, and affording these expenses is another issue in itself. Take care, bye for now.

marcmullo@hotmail.com

P.S. Even if I don't partake in the interview, could I still receive a copy of the results?, thanks again.

A.L. Phillips (authoralphillips) | 4 comments Hi Marc,

Thank you for your willingness to help! I'm afraid that I should have added in the requirements that I'm restricting my sample to authors from the US for this stage of the project. However, I will keep your information on file for the next stage of the project, and will put you on the list to be informed of results.
Sincerely,
Lynn P.

A.L. Phillips (authoralphillips) | 4 comments Thank you all for your interest!
I have responded to all of you for whom I have email addresses.
Sue - do you have a website that I could look at?

I still have a few spots left, especially for male authors and authors who view themselves as relatively successful (rather than just beginning). Many thanks!
