message 53: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Clarice, I believe God is having you go through this at this time for your ultimate good and for His glory. We can't know exactly what He is planning for you in the future concerning your problems, but you can have peace if you know that it's all in God's hands and best for you, even if you don't understand it. It could be He's having you go through this to strengthen you in your faith, or prepare you for something in the future. I'm praying for you!!

message 55: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Elsa Frost, concerning your question. I believe it is wrong to be gay or bi. The main reason being because God Himself said so, and because it goes against His law and how He created us. Remember that we are fallen beings and we all have our struggles with sin. You can turn to God for help if your tempted in any way. God hates sin, but that doesn't mean He hates the person who sins, we all sin and don't deserve His love or forgiveness. So yes, God does say the sin is wrong, and we weren't created that way, but we chose this path, and have to deal with the consequences. Does that make sense?

message 56: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Clarice, yes that took a lot to type, but I don't mind if I can help someone in their walk with the Lord.

message 59: by Anna (new)

Anna A super encouraging book to read that helped me greatly in my walk with God is Comforts from the Cross: Celebrating the Gospel One Day at a Time. It has short sections/ chapters to read every day for a month (30 chapters). I highly recommend it!

Well, that kinda wasn't my question, and I still believe marriage is only for a man and a woman anyway.

Ehh... sort of. So are you saying that my being attracted to girls in a romantic sense is a sin? 'Cuz, I mean, I could get it if I was getting into a relationship with another girl and engaging in homosexual behavior--or if that was my intentions to do someday. But would just having a crush on a girl be sinful? Because I don't think I chose to feel this way towards the girl I like (although I don't think God made me this way either). If I did choose the crush, I'd have chosen it to go away; not stay. And I just can't understand how it's not sinful for someone to be attracted to stealing and not act upon it, but that when I say I'm attracted to girls and not acting upon it I'm somehow already sinning.

I hope this doesn't come off in a rude way. I just sometimes get confused about this stuff.

Papa, why do you pile so many things on me at the same time, when you know I'm going through to much already?"

He also knows how much we can stand. So you're probably stronger than you even know. :) Also God wants us to give up our crosses to Him so He can assist us in carrying them (1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22, Matthew 16:24, Luke 9:23, Matthew 11:30). He Himself carried the Ultimate Cross--the Cross to Freedom and Salvation (Galatians 5:1, Isaiah 12:2). By turning to God in prayer and handing over our daily cross to Him, we're handing it to the One who is Salvation, Freedom, and Truth itself. It's difficult to trust anybody with our daily crosses--we who are finite beings--so it's much harder to trust somebody who is an Infinite Being we haven't seen with those very crosses. But that Somebody whom our eyes have not seen made us in His Image and Likeness (Genesis 1:27) and knew us before we were even born (Psalm 139:16). If He who made us has given us so much--even so far as to assist each and every one of us into reaching Heaven--we can certainly trust Him with our lives! It's tough, but if you start slowly trusting God with the little things going on in your life, you'll eventually find yourself trusting His Plan for you and trusting Him with your own cross--even when that cross doesn't make sense, nor does His Plan. God has a bigger purpose in mind for you! :)

I'm praying for you!

ᴘʜᴏᴇɴɪx ★ᴄᴀᴛᴄʜ ᴍᴇ, ɪ'ᴍ ꜰᴀʟʟɪɴɢ★ | 801 comments That was ALOT of reading...but thank you, Elsa! That helps.

message 65: by Tamara (new)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I agree with Firefly! I didn't mean to make that confusing Elsa, but I wasn't saying that you're sinning by being tempted. We're all tempted, but it's if we dwell on the temptation, even if we don't act on it that's a sin. As some people say "The bird can pass over your head, but don't let it nest in your hair." (Something like that). Or as the Bible says, "Take every thought captive for Christ." That means to bring every sinful thought to God, confess it, and let Him take care of it. Don't try to fix everything yourself.
I don't think you were rude for trying to clear things up, that's why I asked you if it made sense. If I'm still not making sense, or if you still have a question about something in particular, don't feel bad asking. I'm praying for you, and thank you for being so open with us!!!

message 66: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Agreed

message 67: by ❄Elsa Frost❄ (new)

❄Elsa Frost❄ (elsafrost) Yeah, that does make sense to me. Thank you for your responses! :)

message 69: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Totally!

message 70: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) What should I do when I feel like God isn't there, not answering my prayers and stuff? Are there any verses that will help?

message 71: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 27 comments Jeremiah 1:5; 29:11-13. Psalm 138:8. :)
Haley, God is always there. He will NEVER leave you or forsake you! His love and His way are perfect! It might seem hard to trust Him when, well, He isn't audible and we can't see Him, but don't stop praying. I can promise that He hears all your prayers and wants you to call on Him. And remember, an "answered" prayer doesn't mean a "yes" - it means that when we submit our human will to His perfect will, His will happens according to the plan that's the best for us. It's hard, and I know. But He is there and loves you more than you know! If you ever want to talk, let me know!

Zoë (zoeblife) ❄Elsa Frost❄ wrote: "Tamara wrote: "Elsa Frost, concerning your question. I believe it is wrong to be gay or bi. The main reason being because God Himself said so, and because it goes against His law and how He create..."

God says to take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. So even if you aren't acting upon the thought (which is good) you don't want to continuously dwell on the thought, because your thoughts become a belief and then actions and habits and so on. So whenever you feel attracted to a girl, stop right there and change your thought process. Think rather about an attractive guy and tell yourself that you aren't attracted to girls. Its fine to think a girl is pretty but theres a difference between that and being attracted to a girl. Don't be attracted to the same sex. And I'm glad you aren't acting upon this sin, but if you don't change your thought process, eventually you will act upon it, whether you wish it now or not.

Sorry. I totally didn't have time to read all the messages above so I didn't see that Tamara had already given the same verse/message as me :$
And understand this: it isn't a sin to be tempted or to accidentally see something bad. The sin is when you dwell on the tempting thing and take a second look at the bad thing. Thats where you need to ask Jesus to help you and to focus on Him and listen to His voice.

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 27 comments http://scatteredjournalpages.com/2015... Check out this blog post I wrote about living in sin and how our freedom in Christ relates to that. :) I think it's kinda similar to this topic.

message 83: by avery joy (new)

avery joy | 624 comments Okay guys...so I have my opinion on this but wanted to see what other people think...
Would you say it's bad to say/type OMG even if you know you meant "oh my goodness"?
(I'll tell you my opinion after I hear some others)

message 84: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 27 comments Personally, I don't think it's okay, because people are listening and perhaps they're not Christians. It might cause then to think that we're not any different than them. You know? A bunch of my friends say 'OMG' when they mean 'oh my gosh' but I think it sounds too much like you're taking God's name in vain.
