Four
question
I found this a waste of time.

This collection of novellas just pretty much repeats what we already know from Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant- if you have read them. And it repeats scenes from Divergent, like the scene where Tris enters four's fear landscape. And we all know the truth about Evelyn and Amar and why Four refused his position as Dauntless leader or that he placed first when he was doing initiation. Those were already explained in Divergent so it's nothing new or exciting.

But....things are so different from Four's POV. I really enjoyed it :)
I expected more of after Tris died. Why make a book about something that already happened. If the author wrote Four after or before Divergent I would've been fine with it, but i Guess it was good.
I actually loved having a different point of view for this book. I was so sad when the series ended, I wanted more. Then Four came out and it satisfied my need for more.....for now. I realize that it is repeating things we already knew however I simply loved having it told from his point of view. :)
I'm with Leya in this, it was a totally waste of time. The book it was a rerun of Divergent at the point of having the SAME dialogues. There's not excuse for that. You can borrow ideas of a previous series but if you don't add anything new, it's pointless. Or worse, is just an attempt of making money at the expenses of your readers. Very despicable if you ask me.
I loved Divergent, enjoyed Insurgent, didn't believed Allegiant (and not for the end of it, I'm just fine with Tris dying, but really? a DNA problem? Not a revolution, not a person ideal's, just some muttation? Come on!). So I didn't believed Four would be an amazing revelation. Still, it was bad even with low expectations.

It was not really a waste of time for me. In fact i enjoyed it because it was coming from Four's perspective. It's really nice to know what one character in a book thinks of the same situation. When i was reading divergent,i really thought that Four was a stonehearted guy. But i find it funny how he thinks about certain situations that happened in Divergent making me enjoy reading this prequel. Besides, the reason why four was created is to know more about him and it was justified. :D
I think this was more for fans who wanted an in-sight of Four, since it is from his POV.
For the people that don't know this book was written before the others, obviously you didn't read the introduction. Any ways there was an epilogue for Allegiant that tells Tobias's side after Tris's death. This book was based on Tobias's perspective of things, and yes there were similar things but there was also new ideas as well. It's sad that people can't understand that people have different views and perspectives.
Obviously it's going to repeat things about Divergent, if the book is Four.
Lest a scene from the book in which the viewpoint of Four described the scene of knives with Tris integer there.
And the other, explain part of the lives of four.
The book is not a waste of time, but THE OPPOSITE OF THAT.
Four is one of the best male characters in the books I read, I love him so much and when you love a character, LOVE THE PARTIES WHICH EXPRESS.

I agree with you. I didn't get much information. One thing I love about this book is how Roth expresses Four's emotions. I really liked the part when it tells everything about Four's childhood. It made me understand him even more. I once didn't understand why Four wanted to get away from Marcus, I thought he was overreacting because I didn't know Marcus was 'that' bad. But now I understand why.
I liked it because it was from Four's perspective but other than that it wasnt that good.
I agree with you. This book doesn't bring me any information or something that makes me want to dig so as to know even more
It is to understand the side of Four more. It is everything about him.
