Sorscha

Believe me, was I happy when she died. Sorscha was simply a contrast to most of the characters of this book - strong-willed and determined.I mean, even Dorian himself had a slight backbone. She was just expendable and weak.
How was it possible that Dorian's tastes altered that drastically? In Throne of Glass, he was in love with a dauntless, badass assassin. How on earth does that escalate to loving a kind, but meek and docile healer?
Quite frankly, I feel as if Sarah just placed her in to mess with my heart. (DORIAENA <3 EVEN MORE COMPATIBLE AS KING AND QUEEN NOW) But even if I didn't ship Dorian and Calaena, there was no way I was going to adore Sorscha and Dorian. Even she, herself, admitted that she was no Queen.
She was just a catalyst for Dorian to turn against his father, I'm sure you'll agree. I just wished that she wasn't so.... vexing.

I agree with you Steph, she was definitely put in there for Dorian to finally out his magic and his stance to his father. It was rather creepy though as the King seems to have known all along?
I get the feeling that Dorian is not the king's actual son but maybe he belonged to a family with magic and the king took him in?
He sounds nothing like the rest of his family, both in looks and personality. But then that doesn't explain why he can still use his magic.
Yes, thanks to Maas for she killing Sorscha off, but PLEASE don't introduce another character like that in the next book!

I agree with you Steph, she was defi..."

Your theory sounds totally rational, though I doubt the King of Adarlan (HOW IS IT POSSIBLE WE STILL DON'T KNOW HIM NAME???) would be this sympthetic. Though, Georgina Havilliard sounds like the exception, but from what I've heard.. he greatly resembles her.
I hope that doesn't happen. I don't think that I could stand another main character being not who she/he is XD.
Still, Dorian irritated me slightly. His "me and Sorscha equals true love" was not convincing. All she did was help him with his magic, honestly! I mean, using Calaena as an example (CUZ WE DON'T SEE HIM WITH ANY OTHER GIRLS) there were actually obstacles in their relationship. The King, his position as prince and Calaena an assassin, fear of her losing the competition for the King's champion... it was much more convincing that he had true feelings for her than a healer that really didn't face any obstacles to be with him.

Sorcha, I'm not exactly sure how I fell in love with you but I did. The readers didn't really seem to care that you died. You didn't really help the book at all but whateves I'm not the author here. Maybe you'll make more sense in the next book.

I agree...he was loyal to everyone...i dnt get why nobody likes Dorian!

i wasn't sad that she died though, i was sad about Dorian and how it had effected him and how he's lost yet another girl he loved but i actually started crying when chaol said he loved dorian! ahhhhh the bromance may be reborn yet! :D
I dont want Celeana to end up with chaol though, i actually think she would be better with dorian in some respects but i just feel that him and celeana are just in the friend-zone for now! ahhhhhhhhhh!

YESSSSSSSS Rowan and Celaena

yeah Sorcha was kinda pointless

Literally she caused everything to crumble for Aedion, Dorian and Chaol. If she did not admit that she was the spy everything would have been planned. But I guess she is the story twister to the story. Perhaps in the next installment Celaena will find Chaol. Save Aedion and Dorian. Who knows?
I am so excited to read it either way knowing or not.
Seriously did not like Sorscha.

Died

(Spoilers if you haven't read it or finished) :) I really hated Sorscha! Dorian in this book irritated me until the end and I was so dang happy when she died! I was reading through any and all parts involving her and Dorian so fast just to get over with it. I almost skipped them but I knew I couldn't shirk the book or myself. I feel she was slid in the story well enough but I feel she fell from the effing sky and landed in Dorian's bed just to warm it for him since kick butt assassin kicked his butt and left him for dead. Yes I feel he isn't good enough for Celeana (probably spelled that wrong) but I feel it's WORSE if he's with anybody but her. I haven't taken partial with him but the ending shows that he is going to become a very good, likeable character for me. And again..Sorscha can go die in a hole..oh wait..the one time I was on the King's side...yep~

Definitely! I just need the next book afghdgkljs

There's no precise release date right? Just a general "2015"

yeahh me too, when she said that she loved Dorian and Dorian started to like her it was just...nononononono. and all my fellings of OLD SYDRIAN CAME BACK.
so i was kind of happy when she died, because i din't like her and Dorian together. and i dont think that he was actually in love with her, maybe he loved her but not in love with her.
then i was kind of sad for Dorian......

I kinda was happy when she died because to me, it didn't really feel like a relationship, but more like Dorian was just sort of desperate to be in a relationship. Overall, it wasn't that meaningful and as soon as we were introduced to Sorscha, I knew that she would die, and it would hurt Dorian again.

I liked Sorcha, I really did, but at the end, I didn't cry when she died because I felt like she was vague enough as it was and there were very few details that we knew about her. I don't ship Celorian (I'm both on Team Celaena &/or Team New Guy to Come Later In the Series), but I felt worse for Dorian than I did for Sorcha, if I'm being honest. If she wanted us to cry, she should've pulled a Nehemia on us and killed her in the next book while we're getting to know her as a character.

is it bad that i felt A LOT better when you said she died? I hOPE she does...it's just i don't like her..at all

IT happens that way. Once you get your heart broken, you go for the opposite type of person. That's usually the way things are

i cant believe i just read this... SORCHA DIES??? good

The other characters in the previous books felt more planned and structured whereas Sorscha just feels like a convenient yet pointless character. How convenient that she was with them all along but because she was just a healer nobody noticed her until now. How convenient that she knows everything going on and how convenient that she has always been in love with the prince!
I did still love this book but I was disappointed in the way Maas added that character in. She could have been introduced as a new healer that took a liking to Dorian and became sympathetic etc.
Any thoughts?
