Frank allowed Black Jack Robinson to dispense his brand of justice on Willy and Norman. Did he do the right thing? What do you think of what Black Jack did to them and to Horace?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I was actually surprised that Frank let Black Jack Robinson take care of Willy and Norman. It was a little out in left field for these books. But, Frank knew there was a good possibility of them getting off and he stepped back to let Jack take over. I was very surprised that Sarah didn't object to the whole thing though.

I think Frank and Sarah have become pragmatic about justice dispensed towards members of society. They would have destroyed Estelle’s reputation, saying she was responsible for getting herself killed. No one would have cared enough about Freddie to go after Willy. They just...let it happen. It didn’t surprise me.

Oh, about what Jack did to them...

They spared Penelope by letting her think Norman had committed suicide. His death could have been worse. Willy’s death was probably more traumatic as he killed a child.

Both should have been tried, convicted and jailed (Norman, as it was an accident) or executed (Willy) as it was cold blooded and premeditated.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I thought it was a great idea for Black Jack to pay off Horace's staff when he was at a point where he couldn't care for himself. He could just linger with no one to help him.

Oh, that was clever, wasn’t it? He died a miserable, natural death. But, he ruined so many lives he still got off easily.

~ Giulia ~ | 193 comments I kind of expected them to at least try to let the culprits be brought to justice. They have indeed become very disillusioned by the system.

Horace got off too easily, but there's nothing much they could have done to him to make what little remained of his life more miserable.
