No one at the Longacre home seemed to have been concerned about Estelle being missing, particularly her father, Horace. When, if ever, did you suspect his relationship with his daughter was unnatural? Did you then think that his relationship with his sister may have been the same?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I figured out rather quickly that he had raped or molested his daughter. That is why she was a bit on the wild side, slumming in the Bowery. That led me to believe he had raped his sister in the past.

It took me awhile to go there. I believe it was when Willy described her behavior during sex and that she wasn’t a virgin. That was my “aha” moment. It then started to explain Penelope’s dislike for Horace.

I was still surprised that no one reported her missing, but after spending a bit of time in that household I could see how they left her running around as she pleased.
