((Okay))

While Jago was recovering from his earlier feats in the gauntlet, a silver parachute floated down to meet him. Inside, there were four water bottles. A true gift from his mentor, if he was smart enough.

message 802: by [deleted user] (new)

Jago looked at the water bottles, confused. He waan't thirsty... Unless.... Unless his mentor thought is could help him...

Jago grabbed the bottles and looked at them carefully. Normal looking, purified... He didn't understand. Wait. His mentor was smart. The robot would need to be outsmarted. So.... WATER! Jago's eyes widened. He would have to kill the robot with water!

Jago got ready, and stood up. He had distributed the remainder of the original water into each of the four bottles. He set his feet, and took a step forward. The robot sprung to life and charged.

((To be continued))

message 803: by [deleted user] (new)

Jago dodged the huge machine. He was slower due to his injury, but managed to move quick enough. He dodged again, and a sharp pronged hand of the robot glinted in the light. It could kill him with one jab. Jago swallowed, and quickly unscrewed the water. He dodged back around the robot. A sharp prong bolt scratched his arm, but he ignored it. He dodged back around it with more force, and saw a space between where the arm joint connected to the robot.

Jago shielded his face, and jerked the bottle forward. Half of the bottle made it out, splashing into the space. A loud buzz echoed, and the robot sparked. His arm drooped down, dead. But the other arm and rest of the robot was still function. Jago was scared, sure, but he was almost positive the screens of Panem were on him. He stood straight, and prepared the next toss. The robot was angry now that it hadn't inflicted pain, but wasn't aware of its dead arm.

Jago was dodging more. He wanted a clear shot at the robot's neck joints. While he tried to get around, the robot anticipated this, and jabbed out it's good arm. The arm, with four prongs coming out- jabbed at him, leaving a clean cut in his shirt on the side, and blood trickled out of the light cut. It was light, but hurt more than anything. Jago looked at the prongs again, and saw that each on had a ragged barb at the end. He grit his teeth, and lunged forward. He dumped the water into the joint. The robot slowed down, sparking, but still functioning. Without missing a beat, Jago popped off the tops of the two other prepared bottles. He dumped all of the water contents on the neck joint, dodging out of the way as the robot fell over dead.

Dead.

Jago had defeated it.

((I'll have this work a little differently in this store. >:-)

Let me know if there's anything you wanted him to have that I didn't give him.))

The robot disintegrated into a cloud of dust as a large package fell from the ceiling. When it landed, the sounds of clanking metal could be heard. The box was cardboard, and when Jago opened it, he would find a set of five throwing knives, a dart gun equipped with 12 poisoned darts, and a sword.

message 805: by [deleted user] (new)

((No, this sounds pretty good. I was surprised, I thought it would be more lot's-of-weapons-to-choose-from-store-thing :3 Maybe a poison dart gun/ blowdart gun? Thanks!))

Jago hungrily ripped open the box. Inside were five enormous throwing knives. If thrown with enough force, he could probably kill someone in one hit. The sword was also large, extremely. It had a heavy metal blade, and a ragged point. He smiled. This was great. [if he gets the gun, I'll insert it here].

Jago packed up everything into his bag, including his one and one half extra bottle of water that he didn't use and the empty bottles. He then slid all five knives into his belt, and kept the sword in his hand. At the last minute, Jago neatly flattened and folded the carboard box, and slid it into his bag.

The obstacles had all stilled, to allow him to easily exit the store. He ducked past the un-moving blades, and made his way out into the cold, fresh air.

((I don't know. I used to be willing to have Jago dead, but now that he has such a chance of winning, I don't really want him to. Linadel is out, I think Mihr is pretty much dead if you're fine with that, IDK, Adele I don't think can win because Dystopia won't be on. Unless somehow Minny and Jago collapse, I really don't think it's logical that Mihr would live, I'm sorry Aliya!!! So then it's between Minny and Jago. I think if neither of us will back down, Chloe should decide, or put in an obstacle, or just see which is most logical. This is what Chloe said:

"Starting tomorrow, there needs to be at least one post a day (and a kill every three days), and I'm letting it go for one more week. If at the end of that week it still is inactive, I am randomly choosing a winner and killing the rest off."
~Chloe, Head Gamemaker

I don't know, barely anyone's been posting everyday, and it's been more than a week. And one person has not died every three days....))

message 807: by [deleted user] (new)

((No, it's natural to want your character to win, I want mine to win too :) Anyways, I just added to obstacle course so that I'd have something to post XD))

((Julane: I added the dart gun for you. I wasn't sure what you wanted and I tried to pick what someone from 8 might be able to use, so that's what I have him.

Alice and Julane/Aliya if she happens to come back: I really don't know what to do with this. Aliya, I think we can agree that Mihr is pretty much dead, so I think it's safe to say that she doesn't win. (If you're on and you have a really big problem with that then message me.) So that leaves Minny and Jago, and if I tell you two to figure it out you probably wouldn't agree, so I'm doing this. I'm flipping a coin (which is about as fair as it gets); if it's heads, Minny wins, if it's tails, Jago wins. Then you two can roleplay it out from there.

The result of the coin toss was was tails, so Jago wins.))

((I'm not, I promise you, but if you really think I am then I'll let you two try and figure it out. If you haven't agreed, then I'll think of another way to make it fair, but I really don't know how I'd do that without you having to trust me, but I understand where you're coming from. Let me know if you need me to do something other than what I've done, but I'll leave it to you two if you don't want me to do it.))

Alice? wrote: "[Thank you for understanding. Can we have a poll or something? And can you, like, send a message too the group telling them all to participate? It would be fair.]"

((I actually don't think that a poll would really be fair. However, if it was a poll in which you didn't know who you were voting for, then it would be fair. Do you want me to do that?))

((The only problem is that neither of you want to lose...))

message 813: by [deleted user] (new)

Why would Chloe ever lie about a coin toss?

Nevermind.

Anyways. If we RP it out, the problem is neither of us would want to lose. I think that a poll is waaaaaay more bias than a coin toss... Just saying.

I think the most fair thing was random, but obviously I'm bias to that.

Honestly, the most fair thing is for it to be like the HG, and the strongest wins. But Jago does have an advantage, he has weapons and is older and stronger...

I don't know. Chloe?

message 814: by [deleted user] (new)

What you could do is you and Aubree talk and agree on who should be winner, based on posting frequency, weapons, logic, etc. You might argue it's bias, but really, there are two of you...

((That's true, but I still feel like a randomized choice would be the fairest here. Then it's completely unbiased (because I have nothing to lose or gain here, so why would I be lying about a tiebreaker?) and there's no question as to whether or not one person was chosen because of some external reasonings. However you guys would like though, like I said: it doesn't affect me.))

I found an online simulation: it's the Google one if it matters, so I'll do it for you guys. 2/3, and heads are Minny, tails are Jago.

The results were...
Round 1: tails
Round 2: heads
Round 3: tails

Jago wins, according to this, but again, it's you two that are going to roleplay it, not me.

AND I CAN GUARANTEE YOU THESE WERE THE ACTUAL RESULTS I DIDN'T LIE I PROMISE

(( Death scene.. I wish I could have made it better but *shrugs* ))

All of a sudden, the pain was back. How long had passed, Mihr wondered. The painkillers must have lasted for about 3 hours; they should have, they should have. A few more moments and then suddenly the pain was back, and it doubled, attacking the girl all over her body; especially her lungs. Black spots danced in front of her vision and she blinked continuously, hoping that they would go away. They didn't, and so she attempted to move her arms only to let out an earsplittingly devouring scream. It was horrifying, paralyzing. And enough to make even the worst Career stop dead in their tracks. A freezing array of numbness began to spread up her body, paralyzing her. But Mihr is focused on getting rid of the black spots. She blinks and blinks, and inside although she firmly would never had admitted it, her heart was beginning to.. stop. She began coughing suddenly, adding on plenty to the pain in her lungs. She licked her tongue around her mouth and she felt a coppery sensation spread throughout her body. Soon, the numbness fell upon her neck, and her eyes began to tire from all of her blinking. Her 'lids closed automatically and then all of the pain washed away suddenly, and Mihr began to believe that she was recovering- that she had dreamt all of those horrifying telltale signs of death. It was just the opposite.

A cannon boomed.

((*cries*))

Jago saw Minny and froze. She was twisting a knife in her hand.

It was down to him and her now. She was small, but smart and nimble. But Jago could never bring himself to kill her. Maybe Linadel. Or Mihr. But not the girl who looked so, so much like his little sister, sweet Tella. And murduring anyone- a kid, a teen, Linadel- would be difficult. He stood, frozen. Imagining his little sister watching with distaste. Imagining his little sister seeing him- her role model- slaughtering someone else. But he couldn't leave Tella alone in this world. But he also couldn't ever kill Minny unprovoked.

He looked at Minny. "I... I didn't know it would be you and me..." He stared at the girl. She looked sullen and sad and... almost scared. Like she was going to do something drastic. She murmured, "Hi Jago," so quietly, almost like a melody. Then he saw her looking doubtful and scared, gripping the knife hilt and closing her eyes, and....and Jago realized what she was going to do.

"Minny!" He said. He didn't think he misread her. "Don't! Please, don't. You can stay!"

The Gamemakers (who most certainly didn't just forget to do this) had been especially cruel in terms of the illusion of who was and wasn't alive. In reality, Jago and Minny had been the only ones alive when she killed herself, but the Gamemakers hadn't set off any cannons for the other tributes. So when the music blared, the speakers came on and a voice boomed through them, it said, "Surprise! Jago, you are the winner of the first annual... HUNGER GAMES!"

message 834: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 16, 2015 04:01PM) (new)

Jago stood still. Frozen, then, after the announcement had sounded, he rushed forward. "Minny?" He whispered. He touched his forehead lightly, tears running down his face. He tied the locket around his neck. "I promise," he whispered. "I'm sorry. Goodbye, Minny." He kissed the girl's forehead softly. He didn't want her sacrifise to go unsung. He didn't. Not at all. They would have to be broadcasting his winning moment live. He kissed her forehead again, and looked into the sky.

He was crying, but his voice was soft and strong. "You filthy monsters. A little girl!"

message 835: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 27, 2015 03:22PM) (new)

Jago turned to the girl. He pushed his arms underneath her legs and arms, and lifted her. She was curled up, and her eyes were barely shut, whimsical. He moved her away from the blood on the ground, and away from the death. He lightly set her in the small grassy park area, next to the swing set and little violets and bluebell flowers. He then got out his paints. And began.

It started with her feet. He heard the whirring hovercraft, but perhaps the Capitol also wanted to see what he was doing. He began swirling green and blue in a rich aqua that formed swirls of flowers and water. He moved to her hands, and painted white and silver and yellow shining stars, a a snow white pearly moon. On the opposite hand was a butter yellow sun, a color that reminded Jago of her smile and laugh. Jago painted her cheeks and neck and nose and lips and ears and shirt full of stars, many, so, so, many. Then, in a last, tearful gesture, he painted a singular red star on her one cheek, and laid a blue flower on her forehead.

"Goodbye, Minny, bright star."
