Personally, I dont think anyone would mind paying 50 cents or a dollar for a library discard to help support the library. Our library doesnt have a book sale anymore. They decided the amount of library staff hours spent on the sale wasnt worth it."

And yet they sell used videos, etc. for $1 each sometimes. I suspect it has to do with space available or some rule somewhere.

lol.

Funny, but actually I have seen the boxes when they were ready to be shipped and that was when I found out :)

Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments If the library is historic and also operates as a museum and archive they are obligated to keep everything thats deeemd valuable I suppose as you never see musuems have artefact sales and archives but what they do is just give them to other museums if they have too much stuff.

The only other thing people do is hold auctions at places like Sothebys or Christies. They are huge clearing houses for rich peoples things.

Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments New biographies of NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Adern have gone missing from our bookshop. Either someone really likes her or someone really doesn't like her. There are actually two versions available and another childrens picture book. But the latest is missing.

Jacinda Ardern: A New Kind of Leader by Madeleine Chapman.
Jacinda Ardern: The Story Behind an Extraordinary Leader
Taking the Lead: How Jacinda Ardern Wowed the World

She has also written this one or maybe its just quotes from her. There is a bit of Jacinda-mania still going on which has been ever since she came to power.

Jacinda Ardern (I Know This To Be True): On kindness, empathy & strength
