I sent my partner (Andrea) a message a couple of days ago, but haven't heard back from her yet.

Zachary and I have chosen to read Buddenbrooks: The Decline of a Family by Thomas Mann. Because Hemingway said we should.
I tried to send my Book Buddy a message and it says that she isn't accepting messages. Is that because of her settings or is Goodreads being wonky today??

There is an option to only accept PMs from your Goodreads friends. Try sending her a friend request.

David Mitchell's storytelling is out of this world. Definitely a good add to the TBR list :D
Juddie and I are reading The One and Only thank you Juddie for picking this book, it is a different story for me but I am half way through and I like it!!

Paula by Isabel Allende – 5***** Andrea had a difficult time with this very densely written memoir, but I loved it. Thank you, Andrea, for being willing to read outside your comfort zone.
Have just finished The Day of the Triffids and I was so pleased Fabienne recommended it. ( It`s been on my to read shelf for years ) I really enjoyed the opening, such a great start to a novel. I`d recommend it for fans of post-apocalyptic writing. However, if I`m honest I kept wanting to hear more about the Triffids! :-)

Please try to contact your partner this week to choose your book. You can choose books for each other, or decide to read the same one. Choose the books, and announce what book you and your new buddy are reading for this month!
I highly encourage you to come back to this thread after completing the book to tell us your thoughts! Tell us what you thought- what you liked/didn't like about the book. I'd love to grow my TBR list and I'm sure others do as well. Happy reading!
