Cas's eyes flicked open in surprise, and he stared at Dean angrily, his cobalt eyes glowing with a sort of unspeakable pain "Don't play with me, Dean."

Dean frowned slightly." What do you mean Cas? What did I do to you?" What have I done? He asked himself.
"It's nothing. I...I'm going now. I will see you next week." Castiel said without anymore explanation, pulling out the cellphone and dialing the contact marked Gabriel. This awkward position they were in only strengthened his determination to leave
" Come on Cas, I want to get to know you please. Wait! I'll take you home in my car!" he was getting desperate now.
Cas hung up the phone, their faces still uncomfortably close, close enough that it felt hard to breath. Maybe it was the tension."Fine, Dean. Take me home. I hope your wife won't mind. Especially with those twins in the near future. That sounds exciting." Cas said, the words now half-hearted
" She wouldn't mind?" he asked. I have no wife, right? He thought to himself, but shrugged it off. Whatever, Charlie counts as my wife, well kind of, we treat each other like a married.couple, right?
Castiel pulled his face away from near Dean, his heart breaking as it was finally confirmed. He didn't want to get inbetween this relationship Dean had with his wife anymore. He wouldn't be some sort of mistress, or whatever it was for the male gender."I'm glad. I'm glad you are happy, Dean, but I would not like to spend any more time around you than is necessary, no matter how much of "friends" you think we are." He said emotionlessly. Things felt dead inside him, and he leaned back into his chair, closing his eyes again
" That's good to hear man, now.lets get you home." he grasped Cas's hand." Please lets get going. I have no one waiting for me, I may as well spent it with you, friend."
Cas nodded, ignoring the unwelcome shivers accompanying the unforeseen touch. He followed Dean outside
" Why do you keep thinking I'm a married man? Do you see a ring on my fin- oh..." he had John's wedding ring on his hand. " No wonder," he whispered.
"Aren't you?" Cas asked, quietly, not willing to admit any sort of shame yet. He was right until he was told otherwise, for now
Cas turned away at that moment, not hearing the end of the conversation as he stalked over to Dean's car
Cas told him the address, feeling guilty for making Dean feel bad. It wasn't Dean's fault if he was married
Dean pulled up at the driveway." You want to meet up later? Like two gentlemen out for a beer, how that sound?"
"That sounds...interesting. Come by anytime. I guess. Tell Charlie first though. I don't want to keep anything from her." Cas said flatly, being factual
" Yeah, I guess shell just have to go to bed without me today, but she wouldn't mind, shell be happy that I'm making friends."
"Mmmmhm." Cas nodded, turning briskly to only be tackled embarrassingly by Gabriel"YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU WERE GOING HOME WITH A VERY ATTRACTIVE MAN!!! CASSIE'S GOT A TEN!!"
"Gabe please stop, he's married, we're just friends. Please."
"I didn't hear you say happily, hon!!!"
Castiel shifted from underneath his brother, pushing him off awkwardly and dusting himself off
"Gabriel...please..."
- I assume I left?-Dean rolled his eyes and decided to come back later tonight. Bring beer, or go to a bar. He sighed happily when he got to Charlie's place." Wow, you're I'm a happy mode," she smiled.brightly. " It didn't have to do anything with Castiel, did it?"
Dean chuckled." It does, we're.going out later tonight.,"
-sure. You could have stayed and poked some playful teasing or whatever, but its cool. Keeps things moving-Gabe sat him down at the table "Tell. Me. Everything."
"You've never been one with relationships..."
"Just trust me, Cassie."
"Please stop the "Cassie" things...please..."
"Fine. If you tell me."
"Okay...we go to therapy together, and...he brought his wife the first day, talks to me about his twins...there's nothing between us. There won't be. He's in a good relationship."
"Cas, this isn't about dad, is it?"
"What about dad? There can't be anything between us because he's married."
"But still, I would see you as the type to still like him, even if he was married. Hot-ass bitch, he is."
"...Sure."
"So don't let your weird notions of whether or not your letting down the family control you influence your feelings!! And eat this cobbler, it's peach." Gabe thrust a bowl into his hands
"Cobbler?"
"You need comfort food."
"No, I don't, I need dinner. And maybe a shower...perhaps a change of clothes..."
"I'm not being completely literal. God, Cas."
Cas sighed and ate a piece of the cobbler silently
Gabe stared at him "Go shower. You're goin out with him. Tonight. Go."
"Gabe, it's really awkward...I..."
"No, you're going. Shower. Now."
Charlie high fives him." That's my boy! Good job Dean!" Charlie sounded so happy right now.Dean nodded happily." We may hit the Roadhouse. I'm going to try to get him as drink as possibly, pools like the guy needs it."
Charlie nodded." Totally."
Cas sighed, heading off to the bathroom. As the hot spray engulfed him, he began to dream about possible things that could happen. He could just divorce his wife. Maybe, in a twist of fate, he wasn't married. Or maybe he just had a fiancé. That worked out in Burlesque, right?!He came out in a towel to the frenzied Gabriel setting him out some clothes.
"Mmm...a black wife-beater, and a blue dress shirt...unbuttoned at the top, of course..."
"Gabe, I'm not getting married."
"Not yet. Gotta make a good impression, Cas."
"I think I'll just go with some dark wash jeans, and maybe this navy...whatever it is..."
"Cas...that's..." Gabe paused, watching him set out the clothes silently for judgment. "...That's...that's brilliant! And that's a t-shirt, hon."
"I'm glad you agree. For once."
Dean looked at a Charlie." What do you think baby doll?" He did a small twirl. He was wearing a plaid shirt, leather jacket, and dark washed jeans.Charlie smacked his bum." You look amazing, baby, Castiel will be drooling all over you fine ass."
Dean laughed and nodded." Don't wait up,"
" We are going to have a blast! Like really, Charlie said she wouldn't care what time I'll get home."
"Ah, yes. You look nice, by the way." Cas said, before he could think of what he was doing. What was this?! He was f*cking married!! How many times did he have to tell himself that!
Cas tried to think of things other than the growing anticipatory nervousness within him, the bubbly twitterpated-ness of being touched by the person he longed to be with. Even though this other person would definitely never leave his loving wife, even though there was absolutely no chance of this being something sensual, it still excited him to no end.But it had to be bro-hood, or something of that "manly-ness" type of thing. Definitely.
Cas gently rest his hand on Cas's, trying to participate in this purely friendly purely plutonic action
- sorry I had to go somewhere-Dean smirked, yep, he's totally interested. Dean turned up the volume of AC/DC. He squeezed Castiel's thigh." You're so sexy..." he said in a husky voice.
((it's cool.))"Mhm." Cas said stupidly, his mouth betraying his mind.
He had to concentrate on chanting the word friend over and over in his mind. He must have misheard something, because Dean was just calling him sexy. No, no, no.
Friend
Friend.
Totally pals.
Just bros.
Friends.
