Scarlett turned in the other direction and started walking. After awhile, she saw a big, hairy figure on the ground.

Xavier felt footsteps. Some part of him realized that a person had probably come up on the roof, but it didn't matter to me. Another part wondered why he was still alive. Then he remembered the surgery, a long time ago. The whitecoats had inserted a type of healing "power" in his blood. That was what was keeping him alive. It was what was keeping him in this suffering. But it wouldn't last forever. Xavier smiled faintly, glad that soon all of this would end.

The person said something. Xavier opened his eyes. It was a girl. Her face was familiar to Xavier, but he didn't remember or care how he knew her.
