She shrugged. "See you," Stella told her. As the president opened the door to come back in, she pushed past him and ran out into the hallway.

"ever wanted to see kids fly? just wait a few minutes. they will,," celeste said dryly to the prez.

Stella ran up to one of the windows with a latch and opened it, then jumped out without hesitation. She opened her wings, wincing when it sent pain through her hurt shoulder. She kept falling for a moment, then started flying back up into the sky. The president took a step forward, watching in awe.

Stella landed behind what looked like a museum. She leaned again the wall of the building for support, holding her shoulder.
