This book is part of a popular paranormal series, the type where each book is a stand alone set in the same unviverse and about a new couple. I thought it was part of Kresley Cole's immortals after dark series because I remember the character Lothaire, but I don't see this book in that series.

I read it in 2016/17 I believe. It wasn't an early book in the series, maybe #10 .or 8, something like that.

The plot of this book:

* Supernaturals (Vampires, werewolves, witches, demons, etc) are being caught and held on an island prison. The captors are human or some other human entitiy

* Heroine, a witch who likes to party and is usually superficial, was caught. With her is a young girl who she cares for. Either it's the daughter of her best friend or a random girl she grew attached to.

* Hero is a powerful demon (a good character) who lives isolated from intellegent contact in a harsh hell like dimension. He lives in a cave and acts like a caveman. He is an apex predator in his relm and can't or won't leave to earth for some reason. The evil guys/captors are aware of him but can't reach him.

* The captors realize that the witch is attached to the little girl. They think she can lure demon man to earth if he thinks she is his mate...she doesn't want to trick an innocent man, but they use the little girl as leverage so she agrees. They send her to the demon's relm

* She arrives and pretends to be a damsel in distress. Hero approaches her, kills 3 lessor demons who were bothering her, and offers her their severed heads as a romantic gift. He follows her around and tries to impress her, she plays along, until they get to his cave.

* She is just playing a role at first and civilizes him in some ways....shaves his beard, teaches him to communicate, etc. He was a virgin and they have sex. He's extremely in love with her from the start and she slowly falls in love too, but feels guilty for deceiving him

* She goes through with the plan and convinces him to come to earth. As soon as they step through the portal, he is captured and realizes what is going on. He is enraged and acts like a beast. I think they double cross the heroine and keep both her and the little girl in prison too. Seperate calls from the hero.

* A prison break occurs. And all the dangerous Supernaturals are freed but stuck on the island. It's a free for all. Heroine and little girl are vulnerable, Hero still hates heroine but reluctantly saves and protects them both. The 3 of them stay at a cottage on the island until they are rescued and hero forgives heroine and they get a HEA

Lol I remember basically the entire plot but I camt remember anything about the title or author.

It's Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole, it's part of that series after all. I just overlooked it lol
