Delany The other day I was reading a "Thief of Time" on a plane, and must have laughed out loud, because people around me looked at me, then looked at my book. When they saw the title of my novel, many smiled and nodded in a knowing way. Terry Pratchett's sense of humor is a delight. Rarely do I laugh out loud when I am reading.
His imagination captivates. I love how he manipulates science. Taking what we "know" and twists it for his stories. Pratchett dislays a wide knowledge of the arts as well as the sciences. His references to the Western Humanities makes me wonder if there is more there than what I am familiar with, and makes me crave to know more. Thief of Time is thus far my favorite of his Discworld series, but I would recommend any of his
works. I haven't been disappointed yet. Which is saying a lot for an author whose works are so prolific.

Rachel I laughed imagining the plane scene, everyone looking round thinking 'why is there a crazy laughing person on this plane?' and then seeing the cover and nodded sagely, thinking 'oh, it's ok, there are no crazy people. It's Pratchett, everything's fine'. :)
