I'm just letting it wash over me as well. For the first read I'm not worrying about words I don't understand, timelines and all of the abbreviations. I'm just reading it straight and getting what I can out of that way. I will be revisiting it though.

Thanks Rosemary. That sure sounded like DFW writing, I can see the similarities of what is written there with themes and excerpts from IJ.

This does sound like DFW, and is a really powerful side-read for IJ. It meshes well with the story, and is (if this is possible) even more moving because this is a true review of the inspiration behind the novel. Thank you for finding and posting!
