I look forward to hearing what you think of the book, Janice :-)

Then you might like From Baghdad, With Love: A Marine, the War, and a Dog Named Lava."
Well, that is about a dog and a soldier, but not a soldier that handles dogs. I read them both last year.

LOL Travis! Funny you should say that about the kids. Amy said that all of the people with kids got to go to the front of the line when they started the book signing. Who knew?

I'm all excited because for the last few days we've been thinking about were to go on holiday next summer (we always get the urge to make plans in December). We had a shortlist of 7 countries and have now officially decided: Cuba! We'll rent a car and travel around a bit. Can't wait!

My friend's mum went to Cuba on holiday about a month ago. She loved it there and said it was really beautiful, the weather was amazing etc. I bet you will have a wonderful time Peggy! :)

Hehe yum! Australian Christmas food is so ridiculously varied. No idea what we'll be having. Only thing that is a must in aussie Christmases is there is lots and lots of food. But it goes from our cold seafood (prawns, bugs, oysters), to fish, to traditional turkey and ham, to any random cultural foods, to christmas puddings, to pavlova, to summer puddings.
It's insane. But a nice nod to where we all come from, but then the acknowledgement finally to cooking traditional Northern hemisphere food when it's 36C is fricking stupid.

Our old housemates live above Lexx's sister's bakery, so we went downstairs to say hi as she was there from 9pm making millions of mince pies, and turns out all his family was down there partying, while his sister and her head baker where knocking out croissant pastry and shortbread. So not bad for someone who had just had bits of him removed.
I've woken up this morning, nearly kicked the cold finally I've had all week, but my voice has completely gone. The night in Emergency shot it, and I've been holding on since. It was only a matter of time. My family's Christmas is tonight before we and my brother go away to other states, so Mum, step father and 2 brothers get what they have wanted for years for Christmas. Rusalka to shut the hell up.

I'm going to bed now hoping this day finishes soon. Not a good one.

No wonder you're exhausted! Glad to hear everyone is on the mend.

Have a couple glasses of port. That will fix you right up.

The eggnog bread with rum glaze was quite good, but very sweet. I'd serve it with ice cream next time around.
