Rel Messina | 1 comments This was a book I read back in the late 1990's. All I can remember is that there were some teens that got on a tunnel carnival ride and they are transported to another planet or dimension. I think there were christian themes/allegories in the story and possibly angels were the unknown beings in the other world. I know that it was part of a series. I know it's a long shot, but that's all I can remember.

Rel, can you describe the other planet and what the teens see there? How was it different from Earth?

Could this be fantasy instead of science fiction?

Chels (chelssicle) | 15 comments Kind of a long shot but the Forbidden Game series by LJ Smith had book 2 set in a creepy carnival similar to what you’re talking about

Rainbowheart | 28699 comments The Passages series involves an alternate world, although I don't see a carnival ride mentioned. Darien's Rise is the first book.

Dr. Shivers' Carnival and My Life as a Bigfoot Breath Mint are both Christian books about carnivals, but I don't know about alternate worlds.

Orsolya Könyvtáros (formerly Memp) | 330 comments This is a long shot too, but can you rule out A Wrinkle in Time? Two teens (Meg and Calvin) do end up being transported to other planets, on one of which are angelic creatures:

From the shoulders slowly a pair of wings unfolded, wings made of rainbows, of light upon water, of poetry.

They don't get there on a ride, but the description of how they do get there is very tunnel-like (involving darkness).
