I don't get trick or treaters where I live either. My road is very, very spooky at night. :)

My parents neighborhood, when I was a kid, had tons of trick or treaters. Around 2000, it started to die out, but in the last 4 or 5 years its been coming back with a vengeance. They ran out of candy last year and had to send someone to the store.
I just finished up The Riggle Twins. (view spoiler)That's all I've got for now. You guys read too fast ;)

B&B, I felt the EXACT same way! :)

It was a sad, sad story though, wasn't it?

It sounds like you still have the Halloween spirit, (and the candy!), so that's cool, Steven. :)
Oh I will always have the Halloween spirit. So much that I keep telling my wife that Halloween gets the whole month of October now...it's not just a day anymore :o) Already watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown..."I got a rock." :o)
Oh yeah, for sure - the whole month is devoted to ghostly and "halloweeny" things for me, including visits to hauned houses now that my kids are old enough and enjoy that kind of thing, which I always loved as a kid.
Just finished Pumpkinhead Ted. I love the old-timey creepy feel to the story.
With two weeks still to go until Halloween I'm trying to eek out the stories a little at a time to last. It's not easy. The first two stories are really good.

I loved Pumpkinhead Ted and thought it was engrossing. I don't find it easy to become attached to characters in short stories, but I did feel that way about poor Ted. There was quite a bit of character development considering it was a short story.

Agreed, Goo! Plus, who hasn't felt that way at some point in their lives? Even if we weren't picked on to that extent, most people have experienced some form of bullying in their lives. I think that makes it easy for us to picture being in Ted's shoes.
Kate wrote: The fact that he can't remember ever being around his mother made me think it was depression and that she couldn't handle what she had given birth to"I think Kate wins the prize on this one!
