Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments My god, that's a lot of excitement to read through, and so many familiar names I haven't seen in months.

Hello everyone!!!!!!

May I request to be on a team with Greta, and maybe Vi? I've always seen them around and they seem to be super nice, but I've never been on the same team with either of them.

Ha! I always tell my son, "Fifteen more minutes", no matter how much longer we truly have. So... fifteen more minutes!

Or a little under a month!

Heh. At work it was always 2 weeks as the default "I have no idea" time. So 1 week and 3 weeks were accurate but 2 weeks meant anywhere from a few days to several months.

Megan (megantron119) | 159 comments I think I would like to give this a try. I just hope it won't count against me or my team that I won't be here at the beginning of the challenge. It starts the same day as my vacation :( I think we will be back on the 18th or 19th though.

How many books you have read in 2014 (>100 pages): 74 almost 75 that fit the criteria (working on number 75 now)
How many books you plan to read 2015?Hopefully 75+
The continent you live in (so we can try and match time zones) US Central
Would you be willing to be a Team Captain? Or Co-Captain? Not this time since I won't be here at the beginning.
Is this your first team challenge with NBRC?Yes unless the buddy read thing coming up counts.

If I can figure out the app by then, I will-not very iPhone literate lol. I'm going to be reading while on vacation anyway, especially the plane ride and late at night. I don't think I can do long without reading lol.

message 331: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I might be gone that first week too, I don't know yet. I put off going back to school until January. My father in FL is very sick and I will going to see him when he has lung surgery. But we don't have a date yet. I should be able to check in at least. They don't have WIFI but I can use my phone as a hotspot to at least check in and mark books as read.

No problems Megan & Mary, Just be sure and let your captain know the dates you are away and try and mark books if you can. If not we can count them when you return

message 333: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1803 comments I usually read more during these challenges than I normally would, but work and my travels tends to dictate how much I can read.

No, slow down, I've got lots of work to get done and I really need to finish or at least read down 2 chunksters that I have in progress and on my October to-read list...let's not rush past October!

message 334: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 159 comments Thanks The Red Baron! What are the odds that I schedule a trip back in May for the same time a challenge on goodreads starts that I want to join? Crazy!

I would like to join!

How many books you have read in 2014 (>100 pages)
Only ~40 which is making me feel a little inadequate as I read everyone else's comments lol

How many books you plan to read 2015?
My goal is 100, but it will probably be around 75

The continent you live in (so we can try and match time zones)
Eastern Time- USA

Would you be willing to be a Team Captain? Or Co-Captain?
No thank you. I will leave that to those more familiar with team challenges and GoodReads. However, if I keep up in new rounds, I might sign up then.

Is this your first team challenge with NBRC?
It's my first team reading challenge ever!

After I joined goodreads my reading went up from 0-25 a year to over 400. It helps your motivation a lot to be able to discuss books with others and find new ones.

I hope you like your first team reading challenge :)

Update

Mods are currently organising everyone who has signed up into teams (eek! exciting!) as it does take a bit of time to try and get the right mix.
Over the coming week we will PM all members with their team assignments and links to their team discussion thread. If you have a private profile, please add this mod account as a friend to ensure you receive that message.
Once you get this link, you will need to check in to your team thread by November 3. I will post here again once the emails are sent.

We are still taking sign-ups and will continue to do so through most of the challenge as members need to leave for "real life" reasons or reading goals change, but from this point you may be placed on a 'reserve' list and we will message you as soon as a place is available on a team
