This or That?

House or appartment?

Salad cream or Mayonnaise?
Steam or stirfried are my favourite, I like them nice and crunchy but I guess that still counts as cooked?
Mayonnaise or Ketchup on fries?
Mayonnaise or Ketchup on fries?

Regarding salad, the only valid salad dressing is vinaigrette (and all international equivalents), not all these creamy sauces you anglo-saxons/americans can invent :-p
And the one usually called French dressing? I have NEVER seen that in France, and no French people I now will ever use that on his salad (I am very opiniated on salad dressing. I can rave and rave on it).
For the foie gras question, we had this debate with my brother about how it should be correctly called in English ;-).
Now, another question in the same style:
mulled wine or glühwein?

Regarding foie gras, there is no translation for it, however typically we call a ground up liver product pate. Foie gras is the liver of a force fed goose, not something I agree with however pate can be the liver of anything that is not force fed. I hope that helps. :)
I choose glühwein simply because Germany really know how to celebrate Christmas.
Scented candles or Unscented candles?
Hmm depends on the mood but usually unscented, my allergies don't like smells!
Speaking of which...
Scented candles or incense?
