Bonita (fiona14) | 6 comments Thenia, is it possible to send my email address to just you & not post it to the whole group? If not, I can make my profile public till you send the link?

Of course it is! I meant send me a private message, but a friend request works as well. Check your inbox! ;)

Well done you!"

Hope your move went well and you and yours are feeling healthy, settling in/enjoying your new home and locale."

Thank you ninjas!

It has been pretty hectic, and will start being so again soon, since this was a temporary move only!

I moved from one country back home to help my parents for a couple of months, and I will now start looking into finding a job and relocating to yet another country in a few weeks/months! I just wanted to make the most out of my time here and get the site up and running smoothly before I start planning the next move.

No rest for the wicked!

Welcome to the group! :)

I can't wait for you all to see the site either! I'm nearly done with testing and, barring any unexpected issues, you will hopefully have access by the end of this month if not earlier.

Not much of a wait now...

Zaanodes | 1 comments This is awesome! Thenia is awesome! Thenia is a Goddess!

I had over 500 series in FictFact. Way too many to keep up with on a clumsy site or individually even considering a lot of those series were completed.

I, too, bought my books through FictFact. I, too, do not use PayPal. I hope there will be some way to contribute monetarily to assist you.

I am willing to help with research. My technical skills would probably fall very short, though.

Patiently (especially as I just found out about this!) awaiting launch date.

Hope you and yours are safe and well...and happy!

Aww, thank you Zaanodes! Hope you feel the same after seeing the site!

If your FictFact books are in your Goodreads library, you can use your csv export to easily import them to the new site. Mind you the database has a long way to go still, but it's a start!

You can both donate and use the site to buy your books (through Amazon ), both of which will surely be appreciated! (I can look into other retailer affiliate programs if you prefer some place other than Amazon - just let me know which. ;) )

As for research, none is necessary at this time, but I do thank you for the offer. I have automated much of the process and am working on automating more of it, so hopefully you'll only have to let me know if you spot something that's missing when the time comes.

Not too long now!

Sheila (sheilaj) | 8 comments Finding you all is probably the BEST thing that has happened to me in 2020. Pretty sad, huh?

message 108: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 8 comments Thenia I don't know if you are still wanting testers but I could certainly do that if it would help.

Heather (ham1299) | 4 comments I just found out about this group this morning. I’m quite excited! If you still want help testing, I’d be happy to help. If not, no problem. I’ve waited this long for a FictFact replacement, I can wait a little longer. ;-)

message 110: by Kerry (new)

Kerry (controuble) | 3 comments I, too, just found this - someone (thank you!) put a link in the old FictFact discussion, so I followed it.

I do follow another database called WorldsWithoutEnd, but it only deals with SF/F/H so there is no place to track mysteries or thrillers or romance series. It will be nice to be able to track them all in one place again.

Welcome everyone!

2020 is miserable all around, so I'm glad if I can make it suck even a tiny bit less.

Most major issues have been resolved, so after another round of testing we should be good to go.

If anyone else is interested in beta testing in this (hopefully) final round please send me a private message with your email address.

Thank you all for your patience!

message 113: by Marie Claude (new)

Marie Claude (mariecg2001) | 1 comments I would like to help also. I've done my own series tracking in Excel to hav a list of what bookto read next in my series, but that's nothing like what a website could do. So, if you're still looking for testers, let me know how can help

message 114: by James (new)

James (jeimu3u) | 1 comments Really looking forward to this after manually tracking since FictFact closed :(

I tried to do this but get the message that only moderators can add books?

Is it better to leave a message in the missing something when a search comes up empty?

Sheila, the site is live now. See this announcement here which will give you the link to the site and also where you can submit new series to be added.

message 119: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 8 comments I know there are a lot of series yet to be added so if you have a procedure worked out to add them I would certainly be happy to help with that if needed.

I have a number of automated processes to add new data - I just need the time to use them and with my attention divided between developing, debugging, testing and everything else, I haven't had much time to do that.

It is the next item on my agenda however, and hopefully your series will be up on the site before too much longer...

I'm archiving this thread and opening a new one for suggestions/discussion etc after the launch of the site. You can find it here.
