I'd be glad to sign up as a tester also, just let me know.

Looks great though truthfully not a fan of the color scheme.
I just hope everyone can still find their book files to upload when the site is finally done. It will take me ages to input everything I've read into the new site that I read after FictFact died, and when, once it's up.
This looks amazing. I know this was sooooooo much work, I'm so impressed that you stuck to it and am so appreciative of all the time you've dedicated. And I like the colors. Good neutrals for the book covers 😉

Neeeearly there! RL decided to intervene in a big way (as in relocating-to-a-different-country-soon big) so there are delays, but I promise we are close.
Believe me, after all that work and time and effort, no one is more impatient to see the website up and running than I am!

In the meantime, thank you all for your patience and support. I really appreciate it. Hopefully I will have good news for you before your next reminder... :)

Thanks for the update Thenia, but considering that the alternative at the is NOTHING I'm sure we can continue to be patient for however long it takes. Thanks for keeping us informed along the way, and good luck with your move, brave enough at any time, but in the middle of Covid AND to another country?! All I can say is wow!
What kittykat said goes double for me!I hadn't chimed in yet, just waiting patiently for that blessed day you feel done enough to publish, but I Must join the chorus to express my extreme appreciation and great excitement over the return of a decent author/series/reading tracker.
After I discovered and used FictFact years ago, I promoted it to every Reader I spoke with, and I was so bummed, as were all of us here, to witness and be victim of its demise.
I join with a host of others (I'm sure) to wish you the smoothest of relocations, wherever and whyever it is happening, and look forward to the time your brain can return to a place where you can pick this amazing project back up and see it through to its completion.
That day will be a reader's holiday, celebrated with all appropriate pomp and fanfare (from our comfy chairs with good light and phones quieted). Not to mention wide smiles and grateful hearts.
Until then, you do what you have to do - we'll be here.
Lift with your knees, not your back,

Is this site going to actually have a proper way of reporting errors? Fict Fact was terrible at that and errors didn't really get fixed. A HUGE error that I tried to get fixed didn't because whoever ran it didn't do all that good a job of error correction.
I have added a number of ways to contact me regarding issues or corrections for the site, and plan to look into, and whenever possible, implement them.
However, I am a one person team, so depending on the volume of correspondence and work and time each fix requires, it might take me a while to get to every one.
I do intend to keep updating and fixing things on the site, and already have a list of features and updates I want to make for future versions, so do feel free to contact me regarding any others and they will be added to that list.
Was the error something you can describe so that I can perhaps avoid having it on the site altogether?

And a quick update before your reminders: I'm moving tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be settled enough to get some work done soon!
I just found this thread and I can’t tell you how ecstatic I am!!!!! I loved FictFact but hadn’t used it for quite a while..... I was so sad to see it was gone and soooooo happy you have put this together Thenia!! I was no5 lucky enough to get a copy of my books on FictFact so I will be starting over......Hope your move goes smoothly!!!
Have you thought of having “librarians” that could help? At least with the maintenance part, if it isn’t too technical. You have done so much and don’t want to wear you out!

I'm working on a feature where you will be able to import the csv from your Goodreads library export, so hopefully you won't have to start over completely from scratch Sassipo. Welcome to the group!

Thank you Meghan. :)
I have considered it, but at this stage the database is too complex to allow for librarians without a considerable amount of work, that I would rather spend on getting the site up and running. I will certainly revisit the idea once things are more settled!

well, you could have librarians that would do the fact checking and submit a form that would condense the needed changes/corrections.
I'm so excited for this. I miss FictFact terribly! Is there a notification list for when this goes live or is it best just to watch for an announcement here?

We all do Laura!
I will send a group message to all members of this group once the site is fully functional. :)

Thanks Jo. It's been quite distracting and I've barely managed to get any work done, but I'm hoping things will calm down soon.
There are a few last bits and pieces to check and we should be good to go before too much longer... Stay tuned!

I just found this thread and it makes me soooo happy! I loved the ease of fictfact and can't wait to see this new site!

Ladies and gentlement, the time has come!
The site is up and running, the testers should have received their emails for a last check to see that everything works as it should (testers, check your emails!), and then your wait will finally be over.
Thank you for your patience and support so far. I hope you find the end result worth it.
Really not all that long now...
Testers check your emails!
I got the email and am trying it out right now. I will email you my feedback but so far - so awesome! Thank you so much for putting all the work in.
I've started testing, and so far, I like it a lot! I'm so glad to have a series tracking site again, and it's easy to use, like FictFact was. One question: how do I recommend a series to be added?

Hey MBP, I'm glad you like the site! I have created a Questions and Answers thread where I will be answering questions - I've answered yours already! Find the link here.

This is so exciting, I just responded to your email from yesterday. Let me know if you don't see it!
So excited, Thenia! 🤓 Hope your move went well and you and yours are feeling healthy, settling in/enjoying your new home and locale.
So glad you've come out of this experience (making the new db) with your brain still functioning. Such a lot of work and moving again on top of it. Well done you!
Thenia, I'd love to be a tester as well. I should've volunteered months ago as I'm tech-savvy & an avid user. Thanks for all you've done! I'm so excited we're almost ready :D :D :D
I was a FictFact user for a number of years and was crushed when they closed. I have been lost since.... until I stumbled upon this group while searching to find a way to track past and continuing series. I am sooo excited. Please may I be included i your group?
I just discovered this thread - so excited! I had someone help me export my 75+ series to save. Hope I will be able to import when you are up and running. Thank you SO much for doing this - it will be used lots, I am sure. Let us know if you need help
