Allegra McLeish | 38 comments This is a murder mystery probably for young adults. This rich guy with a lot of money (and maybe a big house) is found dead and everything in his will is given to this woman who didn't know him. I remember the cover of the book was pinkish purple and it was a picture of a part of a gate and it was all foggy. I read this book around two years ago and it was pretty new. I can't really remember anything else

Mir | 805 comments There is a plot line like that in one of Earlene Fowler's series: Mariner's Compass I think is the one. I don't recall how the man died, though.

Not Mariner's Compass. There is no murder in that one--just Benni having to figure out who this strange man is (view spoiler)

Allegra McLeish | 38 comments No that's not the one

What makes it for YA?

Allegra McLeish | 38 comments When I bought it, it was in the same section as the young adult books with the Maze Runner series and other novels of the sort I'm pretty sure

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Allegra, who investigated the mystery? A detective, the heiress, an amateur sleuth, etc?

Do you remember the time period/location the story takes place?

Part of a series?

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Circumstances are a little different, but the cover fits.

Allegra McLeish | 38 comments I guess my memory got a little clouded over the two years cause that's the book. Thanks so much
