What shows are you excited about watching this fall?

message 2: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) The Black List! Tonight!!! Actually, we only watch it because of the great bad guys & James Spader. The good guys, especially that chick, are fairly awful. I wish they'd kill her off.

message 3: by Magiccats (new)

Magiccats | 285 comments I totally agree with Jim!

message 4: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Well, it was good, but some of the stuff was pretty far out. Still, Spader played his part perfectly.

message 5: by Eileen (new)

Eileen If it wasn't for Spader I don't think I'd watch.

I'm looking forward to Homeland, Modern Family and The Good Wife. I watched the new series Gotham and I was impressed by it's first episode.

message 6: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Gotham? Haven't heard of it, but I just put it on the DVR, so I should get the first episode & then all new ones. Thanks. I'm REALLY tired of fiddling with this DVR, though.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 2933 comments Mod
I also watch Black List and I also find the female lead....unfortunate. Too bad.

Also still hooked on Person of Interest. Not sure about any others till Grimm starts. Oh, watched Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Still pretty good.

message 8: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I found this list of new shows. Might be worth looking through if, like me, you don't watch commercials so are clueless about what's coming on.
http://theweek.com/article/index/2547...

I found 'Constantine' is now a series starting 24Oct. The last season of 'Justified' starts 7Jan.

We watched a new show last night, 'Scorpion'. The basic premise is a bunch of socially awkward geniuses saving the world. Somehow it was kind of fun even though it relied a lot on technology & mangled it so badly that even my wife was groaning. I'll be surprised if it lasts any amount of time. I doubt I'll watch another episode.

message 9: by Cyl (new)

Cyl (alohacyl) | 9 comments Gotham (Excellent);the return of "Sleepy Hollow"; the return of "Black List"; I'm curious about Constantine;
the return of "The Walking Dead";the return of Agents of SHIELD (it was a good show). The final season of Sons of Anarchy (this will be a violent season, I am sure of that!)

I'm actually more interested in my shows from last year than the newer shows.

message 10: by new_user (new)

new_user Am interested in Constantine, State of Affairs, Survivor's Remorse, maybe Intruders too.

message 11: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) After discussing it with a couple of friends at work, we decided "Scorpion" was so bad that it worked, at least after a fashion.

My Must See List (new shows):

Forever
Gotham
The Flash
Constantine
Scorpion

I have some repeat shows I want to watch or at least at some junction. I am so behind on some of my favorite shows like Arrow and Person of Interest, I can't watch the new seasons yet.

I just started watching Blacklist and I agree that Spader makes the show. I don't particularly care for Lizzy or her partner.

Let me know what you think of Gotham.

I felt the same way doubt I'll watch another episode.

I'm also interested in seeing Constantine. Sons of Anarchy very bloody the last couple of seasons but I have to see how it ends.

message 16: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) "the Flash" is coming on? Cool. I'll have to watch that!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 2933 comments Mod
I really wanted to like Scorpion...so far in spite of high speed cars handing wires to airplanes and nerds breaking into labs it's pretty much a yawner.

I hope it gets better...I really do.

message 18: by Eileen (new)

Eileen I know Mike. I can't see myself hanging on to next week.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 2933 comments Mod
I'll probably watch it unless I'm into a book or something. There's nothing else on I want to watch. I keep hoping.

I do plan to change and watch Black List now.

message 20: by Ric (new)

Ric (ricaustria) | 7 comments Watched Gotham tonight. The nth retelling of Batman's origin. Could end up being another police procedural with villains such as the Penguin.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 2933 comments Mod
Just started Blacklist for tonight. He (Red) Just went in and was talking to this little old lady who runs a bakery. She's this little round gray haired woman, they hug ans kiss... The place is a real neighborhood place. They go wandering back through the kitchen to a wall...and she's an arms dealer, cracked me up. So far I love this show.

message 22: by Eileen (new)

Eileen Okay...I'll turn out on...lol!!!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 2933 comments Mod
I really wanted to like Scorpion. So far it's taking the most predictable story curve possible plus using the most trite story gimmicks possible.

Right now we're doing the "the big boss doesn't understand the genesis" and "oh my goodness everyone's in trouble and they're going to do away with the program...oh my, oh my!"

sigh. Why is good TV so hard to find??? I must have like 200 channels and usually I can't find anything that appeals to me. I can usually watch On Demand if I really want to watch TV, but after while I even watch most of what's there I care to see.

message 24: by Eileen (new)

Eileen I know exactly how you feel!!

I've given up on Scorpion too.

When there's shows on Discovery channel called Naked and Afraid there's really no hope.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 2933 comments Mod
I agree...I've never watched it but somehow I didn't think I'd be all that challenged by it.

Watching Black List. Not bad I hope it holds up....

message 26: by Eileen (new)

Eileen I thought it was good tonight. I liked the ending...they keep you guessing.

message 27: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Mike (the Paladin) wrote: "I really wanted to like Scorpion...so far in spite of high speed cars handing wires to airplanes..."

I think Marg said she's going to keep recording it, but I doubt I'll watch any more of it. The characters are kind of fun, but the other 2 legs of the show are intelligence & tech. Both are bad enough that they should be going for humor, but they're serious.

message 28: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) we're still liking the "Black List". Spader definitely makes the show. While it has some bad cracks in it, it far out shines the current competition.

We've watched one episode of "Gotham" & felt it was OK. Marg likes it better than 'Agents of Shield' which she doesn't follow at all. I haven't gotten around to watching the new season yet.

"Blue Bloods" is still doing well.

"Legends" is another we're enjoying. 'Ned Stark' is a good actor.

I'm looking forward to Mike Rowe's new show, "Someone's gotta do it" which starts soon on CNN.

message 29: by Donna (new)

Donna | 107 comments I'm with Mike and Eileen, I wanted to like Scorpion but it feels like a poor man's "Numbers" which was far better. Well, it had Mr Universe, so how could you go wrong with that?

Gotham starts here for us this coming sunday. Will give it a go. BLacklist is fabulous, James Spader plays Red so well. Give that man an Emmy!

Flash starts here soonish.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Forever and really liked it. (An immortal Medical Examiner uses his knowledge and skills to help solve murders, while at the same time trying to discover more about his own immortality.) I also love Judd Hirsch from Taxi who plays a supporting role.

message 31: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) "The Flash" is conflicting with "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" & something else. This SUCKS. You'd think 2 DVD channels would be enough.
:(

message 32: by F.J. (new)

F.J. | 1 comments Loving Gotham, The Flash and Scorpion. Awaiting the new season of Arrow today (yeah, I'm an obsessed fan of that show). Might check out Constantine as well.

message 33: by Donna (new)

Donna | 107 comments I knew Gotham was going to be dark and gritty, it was well cast and shot but I really didn't warm to it. I don't really need to add another MA show to my viewing list. Too many dark shows damages my calm. (Except for Grimm, we loves that.)

I wish they would put Agents of SHIELD on Netflix. I wasn't too blown away with the first two episodes, but I want to give it another try.

message 35: by new_user (new)

new_user Gotham is kind of dreary, Donna, I agree, and it's definitely deliberate. The show would be pretty fatalistic without Gordon. I do appreciate the writing though and Gordon and Cat. Plus, the fam loves it, so I can't get away from this one, LOL.
