I would like confirmation that the river (water, stream, or lake) would be enough classification for #30 water on Cover.

Sorry for the late answer, just got home from work.
Sure, that cover works.:)

Haha thx! I hope you had a great day. Mine is just beginning. I decided on another book, but if that one works, I'm sure this one will.
By "page limit 140" I assume that is actually referring to the page minimum? I'm going on vacation and am writing all the rules etc. of challenges and just to be sure I wanted to know the page minimum since some groups are 100, some 125, etc.
Hi Denise! I thought I read somewhere that first in a series could be read for a 0. Am I making that up?Thanks! :)
I think you might be confusing that with the fact that standalone books can be read for both 0 and 1. :)
First in a series only works for 1, 0 requires a standalone (or a 0.5 if it fits the page requirement).

I couldn't find a Q&A that addresses this question:For Completing a Series bonus points, how do we handle a book that has no official numerical placement?
For instance, I am reading the Hazard & Somerset series for this challenge and hope to finish it for the series completion point. But after Book 6 there is a short story compilation called Off Duty (plus an as-yet unreleased official Book 7).
If my teams manages to roll us onto a space with a 6 I'll read that one, but does that count as a completed series at that point?
To get the bonus point, just the officially (i.e. according to Goodreads) numbered books will suffice. :)
Haven't heard from our teammate Rosaline for about a week. I messaged her and haven't heard back yet
Ok, I'll keep an eye on your thread and her profile to see if she turns up and will message her myself if there's nothing from her by Wednesday. Let's hope she checks in sooner rather than later. As she's now missed the review deadline once, in case she misses a second one she'll be disqualified. So worst case scenario for the team (provided everyone else posts their review), you'll wait out next Friday's deadline, then roll and continue with your remaining players.
Hello. Just a quick question. Does one-word title exclude subtitles?Specifically:
Food: A Love Story
Does this work for our alternate this week?

Excellent question, to which the spontaneous answer is: Sure, I'll take it. :)

Would team captains please make sure that all team members' review posts comply with requirements. I'll call out infractions when I see them, but I can't be everywhere all the time and rely on you to keep an eye on your teams. Thank you!
Denise, I got a question. Now that Maddison is disqualified. I'll need all the player's reviews for when I roll next week right? Also, will the Halloween Bonus still count for our team?
You can claim the Halloween bonus as long as it was earned by a player who had their review in on time. You don't necessarily have to link last week's reviews since you missed this roll, just the one that earns the bonus point will do.
QUESTION / CLARIFICATIONFrom the rules: (Emphasis mine)
✸ This is a team challenge that requires 1 book a week . The object of the game is to roll the dice and move along the board. To win a team must roll past 100. Teams will roll on Fridays.
So we have to be on spot 101 or higher? Or does spot 100 count?
Just checking on procedure/rules...If we end up rolling, let's say, an 11 - which would put us on 103, would that mean we could read a #10, #3 or #103?
Also,
If say we end up with a 7 - putting us on 99 - and I'm having issues finding a #9 book (which I am) we could use the 5 extra points we have and move our space up to 104? (At which, still wondering if that means a #10 would be allowed.)
Finally, if we haven't used the alternate category option by this point does that mean we've earned the bonus point or will it only count after this round - provided we don't get past 100? (Like with the above option, which would mean we'd have 6 points and would be on 105.)
If we end up rolling, let's say, an 11 - which would put us on 103, would that mean we could read a #10, #3 or #103?
Usual procedure is to take that hypothetical 103 apart into 1, 0 and 3, so #1 and standalone books are an option. #10 books are so hard to find that I don't think anyone's ever asked about them before, but those woud work too.

Exactly. :) I definitely recommend you use the bonus points this week - looks like this will be the last roll with several teams in a position to make it past 100 and compete for the win. (First team to have all their books read and reviews posted for a spot above 100 wins.)
Finally, if we haven't used the alternate category option by this point does that mean we've earned the bonus point or will it only count after this round - provided we don't get past 100?
You get the no alternates bonus once you're past 90, so you can claim and use it now.

Thanks for the clarification! I did have a book in mind for #10 so I'm glad I checked...but now that I know it's a race to finish first (which I'm also doing for PtP tomorrow!) I'll look for a shorter book that might fit the 100s options.(LOL, I'm doing all this prep to find potential books for the bonus to put us over 100 and watch the roll turn out to be snake-eyes...leaving us at only 100 exactly since we earned the alternates bonus!)
Congratulations to the winners!
Team 1 "Just ONE More Chapter" successfully finished their reads for spot 102, taking speedreading to the next level by doing so in well under 24h to beat teams 5, 7 and 8 in a four-way race to the finish line and claim their well-deserved victory.
Thank you all for playing, I hope you had fun! :)
SS will return next year.

Congrats to everyone who played this round. Lots of reading got done by all the teams. (Though if you're like me the TBR didn't diminish at all ... but grew as I saw other books - or whole series - that I added.)
