A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
discussion
Who did you suspect was the murderer of Andie Bell?
Danni wrote: "My theory was that Andie Bell was never murdered to begin with, but she made people believe that she was, and set Sal Singh up to look guilty for it, because she wanted to punish her dad, Jason Bel..."I thought the same thing!! I thought that since Andie's body was never found, she wasn't actually dead, and just staged her murder and killed Sal herself. I know that's a little ridiculous but hey, I'm no Pip!
Lily wrote: "really, i thought that um... ok y'all gonna hate me for this and believe me i have a fat crush on ravi, but in the very beggining when he was still being grumpy af, i um, thought ravi did it. Ok, O..."No cause I have a FAT crush on Ravi too, but I was definitely really suspicious of him. I had hope for him the entire book, and gave him the benefit of the doubt, but there was always something in the back of my mind that wondered if he was the villain of the story all along. So glad that I was wrong tho! I love Ravi <3
Honestly, I had no idea! Every time I would think about someone, someone else seems to be more guilty. Everyone seemed to have hated her so much that I thought almost everyone could have killed her. I definitely didn't expect its ending. I loved this book!
I thought it was Naomi because she liked Sal so I figured she killed Andie out of jealousy and Sal committed suicide. To say I was wrong and didn’t see the end coming is definitely accurate
katelyn wrote: "Danni wrote: "My theory was that Andie Bell was never murdered to begin with, but she made people believe that she was, and set Sal Singh up to look guilty for it, because she wanted to punish her ..."same here! i initially thought it was Elliot cause he was being suuuper sus but after all the revelations about Andie plus how that hotel owner said she'd seen Andie at the hotel after her death, i figured it was Andie all along.
I was really suspicious of Max like the whole time, I thought it was him or maybe Nat because of the bullying. The actual ending shocked me to my core.
Danni wrote: "My theory was that Andie Bell was never murdered to begin with, but she made people believe that she was, and set Sal Singh up to look guilty for it, because she wanted to punish her dad, Jason Bel..."I thought the same! But also i kinda suspected mr. ward so when that was revealed i thought i had solved it... but becca caught me by surprise.
Lol I thought she was still alive and just ran away as a setup and howie, Nat, Daniel, Naomi and possibly Eliot knew something about it……..?
Idk if i was the only one who thought this but i was convinced for like 1/2 of the book that Ravi was the murderer of at least Andie. I didn't think he killed Sal, but he seemed too good to be true. Some of the suspicious moments that made me doubt him included when he found the key to get into the Bell family house a little too quickly for my liking and the fact that he probably would have known Pip's location so he could have sent the threats to her. I also felt that he could easily throw Pip off of his trail if he felt she was getting too close to discovering him. But by the end of the book I was certain it wasn't him anymore and I guessed Becca's involvement pretty early on purely based on how shady she seemed when Pip was trying to interview her. I was more convinced that Becca killed Sal because he didn't think he was good enough for her sister. I was still shocked by the ending though.
Thought it was Andie's dad to honest, but I'm always suspicious of the family in mystery and crime books, and her dad was acting like a bit of a dick from what I can remember.
um.. i actually thought that andie was still out there and that she murdered sal. but i also though that eliot murdered sal, i had ALOT of theories
I thought she wasn't dead and just wanted to blame Sal because shhe knew he was going to break up with her
I thought it was Andie's dad, because of the whole 'verb in the past tense' thing, and because he seemed kind of obsessed over the way her daughter looked. That reminded me of a book I read a year ago, so my theory was that he kidnapped Andie to keep her away from the world so only he could see her.
Okay so i personally thought that it was Jason Bell and honestly I never expected it to be Elliot but I also loved the plot twist omgmgmgmg
I always thought it was Jason Bell because Pip mentions him in the beginning and then she never seems to confront him or interview him or even bring him up again so I thought that Holly Jackson was trying to introduce him but then kind of push him to the side.
I always thought that Andie was alive and ran away, killed Sal , something she had always wanted to do and then she blamed him for her murder as well. I thought that was why the book was named good girl guide
SPOILERI knew it was the teacher (forgot his name it was a while ago) after the discussion between Max and Andie about the nude photo and how it was found in a classroom.
From the very beginning I thought it was Ravi: until the very end it would have made so much sense! I believed he had a lot of secrets and was an astonishing actor, and he just joined Pip to make sure nothing led to him being the murderer. And in the end it would have been such a shock if it turned out to be him! Godddd I would have loved that.
Danni wrote: "My theory was that Andie Bell was never murdered to begin with, but she made people believe that she was, and set Sal Singh up to look guilty for it, because she wanted to punish her dad, Jason Bel..."i agree wholeheartedly with this, i thought she was crazy vindictive but she was actually dead... the entire time...
Mariella wrote: "I thought it was Ravi"I am so glad someone said this! I just finished reading the book not too long ago. My friend read it before me and I was constantly messaging her about how I thought Ravi was so suspicious. I thought it was him for a while.
Sonali wrote: "I suspected that it was Ravi, but I ended up being wrong, but the author should srsly put Ravi as one of the killers"I totally agree! He seemed suspicious to me the entire time!
Darkmoonlark wrote: "Danielle wrote: "My theory was that Andie Bell was never murdered to begin with, but she made people believe that she was, and set Sal Singh up to look guilty for it, because she wanted to punish h..."yes i had watched and read ppl and i saw lots of similarities between the stories so i thought they might have done something like what they did with alison
i honestly had different thoughts all throughout the book. At one point i thought Naomi, i also thought elliot ward but that wasnt my final conclusion. I was very certain Andie wasnt actually dead.
my theory was that it was naomi who did it, and all along with max hastings. really hate that guy. but pip is somewhere anoinng as well.
I thought that the storyline would be like pll. Like she made everyone think she was murderer but actually she ran away to escape. Didn’t think she died!
I thought it was one of the Wards for ages, part of me suspected 12 year old Cara did it at the time, her ditsy whitty personality made me think her as nobody would suspect her??? Andie's friends at the beginning felt sus. I however thought sal faked his death and what pop up at the end
i know i'm very late but here's my theory.when i reached towards the half of the book,i thought that maybe Andie never died in the first place, but maybe she was kidnapped.which would explain why her body was never found.Maybe the guy who kidnapped her wanted to lead the case away so he chose Sal as the perfect person and killed him and staged everything and you know basically everything that makes Sal look like the murderer or wtv.But Andie ended up dying anyway. o_o
I wasn't sure who it could have been for most of the book. I did have my little "oh it was them" moments, but i genuinely thought it could have been jason bell. he left the dinner party, he was an awful dad, he could have worked with da silva and that's where the phone disappeared, and i thought max was a big suspect for a good while but no i just really hated him, did not expect becca or mr ward for a good while but it clicked eventually when pip got drugged
Danni wrote: "My theory was that Andie Bell was never murdered to begin with, but she made people believe that she was, and set Sal Singh up to look guilty for it, because she wanted to punish her dad, Jason Bel..."the whole book till the end i refused to believe that andie was ever dead
Roe wrote: "After there was a conference between Max and Pip about why he had a naked picture of Andie, I generally thought he was the murderer alongside Howard."I'm still convinced that he did or helped in some way but am I the only one who didn't exactly understand why the sister did it, I mean i know but i don't at the same time
My 4 prime suspects were:1. Max Hastings with Howie bowers as an accomplice.
2. Jason Bell
3. Daniel Da Silvia
Though for a period of time I believed Andie was alive and well, that she orchestrated this whole plan to kill Sal.
I thought Ravi killed Andie for about half of the book…My theory was that Ravi knew how bad Andie was because of Noami and simply resented her but like I didn’t think much of it. But when I found out about Jason and his parenting skilled I then thought that Jason found out about Andies dealing and grounded her with extreme and locked her in the basement, and I thought Andie then escaped but then 12 year old Ravi saw her walking around after disappearing and causing everyone to think Sal did it and that Ravi thought she did it on purpose to get rid of Sal and frame him because she she wanted to, and in a fit of rage managed to drown her, but then in the last 25% I was like “hell, there’s no way it’s Ravi it’s gotta be Elliot” so in the next 25% of the book I thought Elliot was the secret affair and I thought Andie threatened to tell everyone and that he killed her because he that would ruin him and saw Sal looking for Andie after that and killed him to cover.
Honestly my second theory was quite close now that I think about it
I dont exactly remember who I thought was the murd. as I read this awhile ago and only just downloaded Goodreads but I remember I NEVER GUESSED IT WAS Mr. WARD
I somehow believed that she's still alive, but I was sure that Naomi's father and the drug dealer had something to do with her disappearance.
my friend spoiled it for me so i knew... (i def didnt ask her :)) but the whole series is so good.. book 3 ruined me, fixed me and ruined me again..
I first thought it was just Andie Bell playing around after some random childish fight with the Singh. But later I seriously believed it was Naomi. I had some hundred theories and this is just the most simple one
