The house sounds amazing, but it seems like all that technology would make life harder, not easier.
I have to wonder about Rowan and her ability to care for these kids. She doesn't seem to even like children that much, and her resume sounds too good to be true.
But when compared with Bill... Maybe she's not the one I should be worried about. Even if he doesn't do anything wrong he's still such a creeper.

It took me a while to get into the story but I've finally hit the point where I'm fully invested

A million years later and I've finally finished the book!

(view spoiler)[ I was worried that since the letters told the story and Rowan/Rachel didn't know what happened that we weren't going to get any answers at the end. I knew it wouldn't be Jack since the author suddenly starting hinting at him very strongly, but I thought it was going to be an accident that Rhiannon or the housekeeper blamed Rachel for. Speaking of the housekeeper, she did very little cleaning for a giant house and good salary lol

When she revealed that she was Rachel I thought that explained why she wasn't so great with kids, but then she said she had the same qualifications as Rowan so that was weird. I thought the parents were going to play a bigger role in the outcome because they were so strange and insane to leave their kids with a total stranger. I agree with your opinions about Sandra. She rarely checks in and when she does it's in the most intrusive and invasive ways possible.

And what happened to the dogs? She just completely stopped mentioning them and they could have been useful when she was searching for Maddie.

Overall, I did really like the book and I think it's Ruth Ware's best by far. But it started slow, and either needed more suspenseful parts or to be shortened by 50 or so pages. I just didn't find it mind blowing like all of the booktubers I've seen review it (hide spoiler)]

What I want to know, is whether she was ever freed? Did she get acquitted when they finally found the letters, or was she already dead by then?
