I actually really like the movie, not as much as the book though.

Erin Lynn I've never seen the movie. My grandma loves it, and she hates pretty much all movies, so I'm sure I'll watch it one day.

You should. I think that it followed the book pretty well

Amanda | 6 comments I read this book for English my freshmen year of high school and then we watched the movie in class. Of course the book was better but I still think the movie was good. I watched/read it years ago so I don't really remember much though.

Sarah Vanilla (sarahvanilla) | 7 comments I read this book in middle school with an amazing English teacher. She always made the books we were reading wonderful by explaining all the symbolism and hidden messages (or whatever they are called) to us.
The book was better, but the movie was still pretty good and followed the book well.

Am I the only one who has never read this book for school. I have read it for fun.

Erin Lynn It's required reading for like every school around me here. I read it in ninth grade, and I've had to teach it at a few different schools when I've subbed.

Really, that is really strange because in the schools around me, they have never taught it.

Really? Where do you live? I think it might be a part of the state curriculum here because everybody reads it.
