SOLVED. Read in early 2000's, had a red cover I think, possibly romantic/mystery in genre, was set in Venice, Italy in the 1960's or 1970's? [s]

I read this between 1999 and 2005, I believe. It was popular at the time... maybe?
There was an American woman, an art restorer, I believe working at a museum, there was flooding, and she was helping to package up and rescue as much art as they could from the building which would lose levels permanently to the rising waters of Venice.
