Share your thoughts on the fourth and final part of Dawn here! What did you like? What didn't you like? Was the ending satisfying? Did Dawn make you want to read the other books in the series?

Deborah Rose (deborahrose) | 18 comments Finished the final section this weekend. I can't believe I read this in two weeks, I'm normally such a slow reader but I was compelled to keep reading "just one more chapter." I totally didn't see the murder of Joseph coming, that really caught me off guard and once that happened I had to keep going till I reached the end.

I definitely want to read the other books in the series, and find out what happens to Lilith and the other humans. I'm also quite curious about what happens to the Oonkali as a species too; it will be interesting to see whether they experience any changes in how they think and act.

This trilogy was on my very very long TBR list, but I might not have gotten around to it anytime soon if it wasn't for this book club, so I'm really happy I finally got around to it, thanks!

Okay. Wow. Just finished the final part and...this was something.

I honestly didn't expect so much death and violence, and, again, there are nameless characters, and we don't really know what happens to them.

I feel extremely bad for Lilith. Overall, she has tried to do right by the Oankali, and she just can't win. So much harm is done to her, so much has been done without her complete consent, and it's really just repulsive to me.

Admittedly, I was not a fan of Joseph. Not really sure why, but he rubbed me the wrong way. I was still very surprised and disturbed by his murder. I figured he wouldn't make it to the end of the novel, but I just assumed that would be because he ran away and died because of it...which is *kinda* what happened if you think about it...

I'm absolutely amazined that the ooloi and oankali still won't listen to Lilith and take her advice. She was right all along, and I feel like they still are not learning from their mistakes.

With Lilith being pregnant (and me being very upset because Nikanj impregnated her without letting her choose if she wanted it or not), I'm very curious about the next book in the series.
