There are over one million UFO sightings around the world each year. I think 95 percent of those can be explained as natural phenomena. It's the other 5 percent that has most people baffled. There has been too many encounters by reputable witnesses such as military, police, pilots and even astronauts to disregard the possibility. People are seeing something and I'm sure the government is covering it up, for the simple reason they do not know what to do about it. UFO's and Aliens are like any other unnatural encounters such as ghosts, demons or shadow people. Most people are going to be skeptical until you see it for yourself.

In August of 1957 I was nine years old, my sister 13 and brother 19. We went on our yearly vacation to San Antonio to visit my grandparents. They lived in a small house on the outskirts on 20 acres. Since there was little room in the house my parents slept inside and we kids slept outdoors on army cots. Late at night we lay on our cots talking and looking up at the sky. Perfectly clear and littered with stars, my brother pointed up and said"look at that." It took me a minute to focus and I saw a large solid triangle, dark in color but not as black as the night sky. It made no noise and had no lights. You could tell it was solid blocking out the stars as it moved slowly overhead. Suddenly it accelerated at lighting speed and was gone in the blink of an eye. To this day none of us have a clue of what it could have been, but in 1957 there was no technology that advanced. That is the only possible encounter I have ever had, but I've been interested in the phenomena ever since.
I've never seen a UFO but I have watched an awful lot of video clips of them. Oh my sad life. My book, 'The Skywhale' is based on the hypothesis that UFOs are really creatures of some kind, not alien space craft and that they are indigenous to planet earth. In my book the skywhales are pan-dimensional and can 'jump' to another dimension for safety, ie. disappear, if they are threatened at all by military aircraft. It works well until the skywhale in question is carrying two children on its back.

Permit me to bore you with an excerpt from my novel SOULS Of THE DESERT."Souls of the Desert" Excerpt from Chapter 35
Saudi Arabia
The worst sandstorm in over thirty years hit the Rub’ al-Khali desert. The largest sand desert in the world with a single dune stretching for twenty five miles and measuring a hundred feet tall, was being dispersed by the winds, only to be reformed miles away. It was an ongoing process as the sand swirled miles up into the sky, blocking out the midday sun and turning it into twilight.
Bedouins, the desert people from the Bedu tribe, were used to the harsh conditions of the desert, but this storm was unusually cruel. Atop their camels, they sheltered their skin from the stinging sands with pieces of cloth and only left small openings for their eyes. The mighty beasts they rode were also covered with protective cloth over their heads to prevent breathing in of the sand and dust. The camels, referred to by Arabs as ships of the desert, navigated blindly and were only guided by the tugs from the hemp reins to keep them on course. The caravan moved at a slow pace and the knobby-kneed creatures sometimes stumbled as the sand piled up in front of them. After a few miles, the winds began to subside, and the sun started to lighten the desert.
They looked ahead through their facecloths and pulled on the reins to stop the camels. The winds became almost silent as they pulled their face cloths down for a better look. They turned their heads to one another, almost beckoning for agreement that they were all seeing the same thing. In front of them were human skeletons, unearthed from under the desert sand by the howling winds. As the intermittent gusts would come and go, the sand blew away and exposed more corpses, lots of corpses. As they moved forward and tried to avoid the piles of bones, it became clear that there were thousands of bodies scattered across the desert terrain, almost as far as the eye could see.
They chattered in their native tongue at the horror surrounding them, and were confused at the conditions of the bodies. They weren’t all skeletons. Some were in different stages of decomposition. The dry, hot climate had mummified some, and others looked like they had only been there a short while. They wondered how this could be. Who were these people, and how did they get here? Had there been a war and they didn’t know it? They were located hundreds of miles from civilization, and only small villages of nomadic tribes dotted this area of the desert. As the stench became overwhelming, they pressed on. They traveled miles before the odor of death finally blew away.
As darkness fell, they decided to camp for the evening. They set up their tents that were woven from goat’s hair. The camels huddled together for warmth as the night desert air became frigid. The women prepared flat bread made from flour and salt, while the men talked of the terrifying experience they had witnessed that day. No one could come up with a logical explanation. The answer seemed illusive, like a desert mirage.
Nicely written, Robert. It almost makes you feel like you're there in the sandstorm.I noticed it's an except from Chapter 35. It has the feel of the very beginning of a book. I don't suppose it's either Chapter 1 or a prologue. Makes me wonder how the entire book itself begins.
The story takes place in Denver, Colorado and it makes one wonder through most of the book, what the story has to do with the desert. It's a constant buildup of suspense until you realize omg, this is what has happened.

The desert is post-apocalyptic, and that long dune with the bodies is what's left of the high rocky mountains in Colorado. Do I get a gold star, or a black one???
Oh, and a further guess. Most of the survivors now live underground. When they bury their dead, they dig tunnels above their living areas and put the bodies above themselves. The bones are in the older areas, and the newer bodies are (obviously) more recent.
Hahaha! You are starless and not even close. However, I am impressed with your imagination though. Some very creative thinking going on between those ears.

After a few hours of sleep, Max woke up. An awareness came over him, and he felt that he was not alone. Perhaps, the sense one gets that they are being stared at. His eyes began to open and he saw something so terrifying, that his heart almost stopped beating and he gasped for breath. He stared at the harried creature that was hunkered in a squatted position at the foot of his bunk.
Max knew he was awake, but he was so horrified that he could not breathe. He felt like he had a heavy force on his chest that prevented him from screaming. As he tried to expel the emotion, only gusts of wind emitted from his mouth. He could not move. He was paralyzed and couldn’t even shut his eyes to block out the sight of the razor sharp teeth that drooled before him. The creature had yellowish eyes with black vertical slits like a viper. They seemed to stare right through his very soul. The dangling limbs with talon-like fingers moved in unison, as they tore at the sheets.
I live about an hour outside of Roswell NM and THAT'S a true story. Anyone seen the movie "Roswell"?
Kathy, before I decided to write my first book THE MONKEY TOY, I drove to Roswell from Missouri to do my research. I like that town and all the alien mystic that goes with it. I have seen most shows dealing with Roswell, and to be honest I'm still undecided on what's fact and what isn't. I don't think we will ever know.
Probably not Robert. I believe their are other beings out there, probably just watching the world and waiting for whatever....
Our government knows, but they are not talking until the day comes when there is no denial.

MUFON is your only option. Never contact any military, federal or state government agency. They will confiscate your evidence and label you a nut case. I'm not speaking from personal experience, just from what I have heard. The jury is still out on the credibility of this phenomenon, in my opinion.

When I was in high school (year left out to protect the old) my parents gave me a telescope/binocular set. I quickly set it up and started viewing the night sky. I started with binoculars...as I was looking toward the east I noticed a strange set of lights. Yes, I knew plane/copter lights, these were different and unmoving, at least at first. When I decided to get a closer look with the telescope I swear it started moving, toward me. Needless to say, it frightened me. Did I stop watching, not until it got right above our house...still could not see it clearly, but my stuff and I packed it up and went inside. UFO, means unidentified flying object, so for me that's what it was.
I watched the weirdest show the other night. It was a 2 hour documentary on the History Channel, called The Devil's Graveyards. I set in front of the TV mesmerized and still don't know if it was fact or urban legend. Did anyone happen to see it?
I'm sorry I missed that, Robert. I got netflix a couple weeks ago and haven't been checking the guide as often.Oooh...update. It's on ondemand. I will DL it as soon as my son is off the computer (dish takes over everything when it DL's ondemand programming).

Wow Aileen, you really know this story well. Very impressive. Whether it's true or not, it would make for a great movie.
After work, a group of us friends were sitting around a car in a park, talking. I was the first to notice a collection of odd lights flying in formation. Needless to say, we all went quiet watching how the five objects zipped around. This was in 1972. Today, the drones remind me of the movements of those objects in the night sky. But the objects were flying more quick, forceful and in utter control.

Practically everyone on the planet today (except me ) has a cellular telephone with a built in camera. There should be no excuse for a barrage of legitimate photographs of UFO's if they truly exist. Now the excuse makers will probably say that electronic devices fail to operate in the presence of UFO's. I find this rhetoric to be rather flimsy.

A woman who has studied his life Denise David Williams is trying to make a movie on his life - actually many years ago there was an interesting TV movie made on his life and how he was treated, or mistreated, by his peers at Harvard. Now the question for today alien fans is what do you think of John Mack and his famous alien abduction book titled: "Abduction: Human Encounters with Aliens" by John E. Mack - Was John Mack himself delusional - Or is he a pioneer in the field who was giving us disclosure of the truth ???
