So it was about 3 or 4 year ago I read this book from my public library. I cant remember the name or face of the book or author but I do know it was in the young adult section. In the story there was this kid i think was a guy and his mom died when he was born. His father i think was a wizard or something because i tember that he used spells and transfer demons into people. Anyway the kid would always get super sick when they were on a boat or and he coukd astral project. And at some point he was attack by someone that use astral bats. I cant really go into more detail without spoiling it but in the book the dad would activate this barrier around a demon befire he summined it because if one demon got loose into the free world it woukd cause mayhem and chaos.

Later on in the book it reveals that the kid is actually a demon that had been tranfered into an unborn child and lost its memories. And his 2 long lost demon friends had to jog his memories.
