All the time. Usually I end up in the kitchen eating something as well. In some qays , living on an author's salary has helped. Less distracting food in the cupboards this way. ;)
Sounds like the phenomenon when you're driving a regular route and don't remember the trip.Just, POOF! And you're there.
But do you retain what you've read when you zone out like that, or do you have to go back and reread?
I usually have to backtrack because once I'm up, I remember about twenty other things I should have been doing.
Yes, and I blame it on "too much on my mind". Sometimes i blame it on the fact that whatever I'm reading just isn't engaging enough, but most of the time it's because my mind wanders to the endless list of things I "should" be doing. Sigh.
Like you're on autopilot!? Reading and then your body or mind realizes it needs something. You do it without thinking and then get back to reading. I've done that before.
