I seriously hope that Aelin and Rowan end up together. Even though I feel bad for Chaol because he was with Aelin during ToG ad CoM. ROWAENA is ENDGAME.
Yes but could it be possible to have several mate in life ? Because I know Rowan's mate died but what if Rowan was Aelin's mate ?

Well he still can fall in love with Aelin but he will never have the same link he had with his mate and THAT would be sad because I want them to be more than what he was with his mate. But we'll see. By the way I just saw Sarah J Maas favorited a twit on Twitter of someone saying she wanted Rowan and Aelin being together and didn't care about Dorian or Chaol being with her. I think Rowan is one of and maybe even Sarah's favorite character so maybe they will be endgame. Hope so
I hope she ends up with someone who she cares about, and loves endlessly, without conditions or rules. I'll be happy with this things, regardless of the man who gets her heart.

Uhm, no. TECHNICALLY, they "are" cousins because Mab and Mora were sisters, but its a very distant bond. What is the problem of cousins getting together? In medieval times incest was SO normal, and in fantasy worlds there are no rules to relationships.
I have some things to say:1.- Dis you realized that Aelin had never ever said "I love you" to nobody???? The closer she has been to say sth similar is when she claimed Rowan as hers.
2.- Rowan used to look several times at the amethyst ring, and he someway felt unconfortable when she talked about Chaol or a handsome friend.
3.- Rowan felt unconfortable with the image of a nuded Aelin. He just gave her a "passing glance" but why???? He had seen her body before (kinda think that many... He's an old fae) so... He did care about it, I kinda felt that he felt ashamed or a "Try not to look" "Don't look" "Relax... Is not important to look at her nuded"
3.- As far as I understand, the mate bond is just huge! There's nothing stronger or more important than it. A mate can't tolerate to be far from his/mate, can't bare to hurt her in whatever way. So... What if Lyria wasn't his real mate??? He couldn't even scent his child!!!! Why??? What if he was just confused??? And... Why Meave was so against that relationship??? (this has just the 30 percent of my heart)
4.- The carranam is a really weird bond. There haven't been many carranam in the history! So, is a special bond, a kind of blessing or gift. May be the carranam is stronger than everything! And it goes beyond everything even the mating thing! Perhaps... Carranam is similar to what happen with Jacob and Renesmee... Rowan can be for Aelin whatever she wants him to be. They belong to each other, no matter the way.
And this theory has the 70 percent of my heart!
Carranam reminds me of the Parabatai in the Shadowhunter world!

I don't think the mortal/immortal thing is an issue here because it said somewhere in Heir of Fire that fae can give up the immortality you be with humans. Also Aelin could still be immortal.
Agree with Liz. Aelin can be inmortal in her fae body so kt doesn't really matter
Hey guys I have two questions, it really interest me:1; What was the scene or moment in the book that made you began to ship Rowan and Aelin ?
2. What was your favorite scene(s) between Rowan and Aelin (that made you swoon hard or you were completely on a fangirl mode) ?
1. To me I guess there is no particular scene, it's his personality and how Rowan is harsh with her but protective and loyal and understanding at the same time, so cold but can be so comforting with her It was all those training scene that showed his true personality and then of course the first time he saw her scars and kept her in his room for a week, feeding her and all ahah. But I think the scene that really made me begin to consider as a ship was when he rejected her when she came to his room saying "you left me alone", "I have no one left" and he just tells her that he don't want to give her anything. (I know it's controversial I began to ship them there). At this scene I just thought that she needed someone more than Chaol because she felt she had no one and that she considered Rowan was her only person left even tho she didn't particularly know or like him, it was just so heartbreaking.
2. There are many like the one he claims her as a friend or take her to his room after her burnout, when he draw her tattoo, BUT my favorite scene was chapter 43 just after she began to told him about her story and he join her into bed and lie beside her stroking her hair. It was o comforting and that's exactly what she needed, there wasn't anything romantic but god it made things to my heart. I LOVE THIS MOMENT.
The moment I began to ship them is probably when she has her burnout and he refuses to let go of her. Favorite scene... It's a tie between all the conversations they had with just looks, after the burnout when he growls and emrys and luca, when they're walking down the halls and they both get territorial over each other, and the part where Aelin is on her way back to Rifthold and he flies to her and caresses her cheek in goodbye.
Oooh they are so meant to be. All those sweet peaceful moments between them. It's small gesture and nothing romantic (as Sarah likes to remind us in the description) but it seems so big and important and the way it touch her soul, you know it means everything to her that Rowan has this gesture and understanding toward her.

I don't think that Aelin and Rowan are mates because wouldn't they already know? when a fey meets their mate they know instantly (at least that's what rowan said)
No he said when she asked about Chaol being her mate that « You hadn’t been in your Fae form for ten years, so perhaps your instincts weren’t even able to take hold. Sometimes, mates can be together intimately before the actual bond snaps into place. ». So Aelin and Rowan may need to be intimate first before the bond takes into place (which she had already been with Chaol and it didn't happen).

Please..not kill me! But I think it would be a pity that they will be mate! I love them, not misunderstand! But for the first time after Aedion she has found a soul, with who is bound not just by love, but more by trust by loyalty. It is so a special connection that a romantic development could be ruinous. I saw them as kindred spirits but not romantically.. It's more than that. It's something eternal and pure. A intime implication is not what she needs from him, i think.. just like he from her! They are saving their souls reciprocally... they will be forever to whatever end. But I prefer they so just only one soul in two corpse.

When I read that I totally empathize with Aelin. I felt so hollow and lonely inside, gonna miss the two of them bickering with each other all the time. Can't wait until they see each other again!
OMG OMG OMG!!!! Girls, you've made me run in damn circles shouting!!!!! I knowed that could be truth!!!! May be that's what Rowan teasted in her blood and he (and she) didn't wsnt to face... They have to be together!!! Endgame, I mean, and I can't stop thinking of the way Rowan must be missing Aelin!!! And I have to say (as a girl that uses to befriend more with guys than with girls) I've always hated the way people think that you and your boy - best - friend may be a romantic couple. However in the book, what's between Rowan and Aelin goes beyond everything... And you know what... You don't feel atractted to your bff... I mean, yeah that could happen but then you start in a kinda "Don't be ridiculous... What a shame!!!" and deep inside, you know it won't work! On the other hand, here in Mexico old women use to say that if we girls marry our friends instead of the damn hot insane guy... Our romantical issues would never ever exist. A PoV thing I guess.
Well, I think that there's a difference (even if we don't wanna realize about it) in the way you feel with your bff... If is just fraternal love or may be sometime there's that part of you saying or thinking that you want sth else with him/her... That is noy really just friendship... And that's what happens between aelin and rowan.
By the way... I have the feeling that Nehemia - Aelin or Dorian-Aelin is more like a true friendship.
Pd: If we make the effort of hearing the softer voices in our head... Our romantical lifes would be awsome XD

Yeah, I understand you. Most of the times when a girl has a male best friend someone ends up liking the other. And I'm not talking about those average male friends that a girl has and laughs with, and sees at school (or any other institution) every day; I'm talking about the type of friendship where a girl tells her bf everything (fears, issues, dark secrets, etc); Where they open their soul to one another. Maybe I'm being a little stereotypical but it totally happens (I know for sure). So applying this to ToG, it CAN happen between Rowan and Aelin. If they stay friends, cool. If they get together romanticly, again, cool. She literaly could end up with any guy in this series and it would be totally fine, as long as she keeps being the same kick-ass, strong and amazing woman that she is.

The only reason I wouldn't ship Rowan and Aelin is because I want Rowan to myself.
Actually in a Q&A with s.j. maas, she said that elves can have more than one soul mate!That makes me think that, hey, maybe this ship could actually be something, but then again with all the new female characters being introduced and rowan having a pov in the next book, s.j. maas could give him a romance with one of them. I hope she doesn't.

In exception of Manon and Nersryn... all the girls seems to be to easy for Rowan. Come on!!! Let´s face it!!! He likes the hard things, the complications, the challenge... he needs someone that really represents an overwhelming job for him. So... AELIN!!!!!
Also... there´re (in my opinion) many hints about deeper feelings (may be romantic) between Aelin and Rowan... and with Sarah... nothing is just casuality.
I have to say it... if there is another love interest for Rowan... I will be in a rage just compared with Celaena when Nehemia died. Yeah, I´m so incredible selfish and terrible that if Rowan doesn´t end up with Aelin... he can´t end with nobody else!

Ok so guys, I'm currently rereading The Assassin's Blade in preparation of QoS and I reached the scene where Celaena told Sam that she'd pick him no matter what. This reminded me that she said the same thing to Chaol at the end of CoM and how different her "I claim you" to Rowan is.When she said it I'd pick you to Sam she was in full Celaena mindset and her biggest threat was Arobynn. So she'd pick him over her master. Her Aelin past wasn't even taken into consideration here or at least not as an obvious threat to her relationship.
When she said it to Chaol it encompassed more. She'd have picked him over any of assassin history, over the king, over any task Elena would have given her. But that's not necessarily a good thing. She would have turned her back on Aelin just to be with Chaol. And then where would our beloved fire-breathing bitch queen be?
"I claim you" is a lot more possessive. Aelin isn't confessing. She is telling him that he is hers. Whether he wants to be or not. She's not giving up on anything because there isn't an ultimatum between them. He knows who she is and he accepts that.
What do you guys think? Or am I just going crazy from the wait and reading way to much into things?
