Wasn't it mora and mab who married mortal men?

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments Didn't Mala get made a goddess after she died?

message 753: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments Idk she is just called the fire-bringer but I would think that if Rowan was praying to her she would be a goddess

message 754: by Sian (new)

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments Yeah I'm pretty sure she's a goddess! The sun goddess or something because they trained in one of her old temples?

message 755: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments I just found in the book it says she is the Sun Godess

message 756: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (bookblubbs) | 116 comments Why must they all have M for their names... I am horrible with this. I honestly can't remember some characters unless you give me a sentence summary or something.

Yes she is a goddess but was she a fae?

message 759: by Sian (new)

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments I'm the same Sandra!!!

message 760: by Sian (new)

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments Hmm I'll have to read the books again to double check but I'm sure she was Fae!

message 761: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (bookblubbs) | 116 comments I tried looking for some family trees or on the wikis but no one has updated them or compiled a very detailed list. I think the only way we can find out for sure is from Sarah herself :/ But when my friend recently went to comic con and got her to sign some books she was sooo busy D:

message 762: by Sian (new)

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments I just googled it and it came up that Deana keeper of the moon is her sister... And that Mab and Deana have similar traits

message 763: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (bookblubbs) | 116 comments So theyre basically like the 'real world' counterparts of the goddesses?

It would be nice if sarah draws a family tree.

Hailey | 115 comments Sophia wrote: "Isn't brannon a demi fae? Can anyone tell me what is the relationship between Mala and brannon? Did she raise him as her son? and is mala a fae or a goddess?"

It just says that Brannon was blessed by Mala the sun goddess and in the Throne of Glass wiki it says that Brannon was fae but he married a mortal and that's why Elena was demi-fae

message 766: by Sian (new)

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments I'm guessing so! The humans have Deana similar traits to Mab and Mala and Deana are rivals but sisters!

message 767: by Liz (new)

Liz | 172 comments Guys I don't what it says about me that I actually do remember most of this stuff xD

Mala is the sun goddess and Brannon had her "blessing" I guess because of his fire powers. I've always thought he was Fae, because he lived long enough to fight in both Valg wars and they were centuries apart, I think. I could be wrong.

Deanna is the moon goddess and Mala's sister, but when Mab died people immortalized her into Deanna. Kind of a Helios and Apollo situation going on there I guess.

A thing I've never understood is how is it that Mab dies before Rowan was even born and still Aelin's greatgrandmother.

message 768: by Sian (new)

Sian Dawes (sianyyd) | 33 comments It's awesome that you remember that!!! I think I need a serious read of the books before QoS comes out

message 769: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Well, the thing is that Mab had children before she died (obviously) and since the Fae are inmortal it probably took hundreds of years before those children had children. As to how Mab died, I wish to know. The only thing we know is that apparently Maeve took her sister's inmortality when they decided to mix with the humans.

message 770: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments Couldn't she just have died from old age since she turned mortal to be with the man that she loved

message 771: by Liz (new)

Liz | 172 comments True, but then Mab's children would be Demi-fae because of the mortal father and from what we saw in HoF they have normal lifespans.

Though you're probably right. Since Mab was powerful to get goddess status I don't find it hard to believe that her children still had long lives, but apparently not as long as other fae.

We need information on fae/human interbreeding xD

message 772: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments Yes lol

message 773: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Ah well, maybe they still managed to be totally Fae since it was Mab you know? There is still soo much we don't know about how this works! But yeah hopefully some answers are thrown here and there in the last three books :D

message 774: by Jess S (new)

Jess S (mintchip) | 267 comments I thought Brannon was mortal. Aelin said in HoF that there are stories saying the gods/goddesses mated with mortals and thats how they got magic...so i guess I'd call Brannon a sorceror not so much a mortal. But the 3 Fae Queens were Maeve, Mora, and Mab. Both Mora and Mab fell in love with mortals and according to Aelin which story you listen to Mora & Mab either gave up their immortality for a mortal life or Maeve punished her sister by demanding they give up immortality for loving mortals (personally i think this is the better story because Maeve is kind of a racist snob who was once in love with a warrior but died somehow. So i think shes been scorned since then)

Correct me if I'm wrong but Mora's animal form is a Hawk and she was a immortal but died mortal. This is the line Rowan is linked to.

Mab's animal form is Swan and she was an immortal but died mortal and upon her death was made a Goddess of the Hunt. Her powers were healing i think and this is where the Ashryvers get their fae powers from. This is the line Aedion and Aelin are decentant from. So I think Aelin is only 1/4 fae cuz her mother is only half and her father is mortal but from a mortal line mixed with Brannon blood that had magic in it?

Maeve is interesting though no one knows really what her animal form is Aelin even says its just dark with no real form and no one has lived to tell the tale but that maybe it was dark and scaly like black smoke or a lizard/dragon/wayvern. And all we know about her is that she once loved a warrior and he died.

message 775: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) I don't think Evalin was half. Is it mentioned at some point? Because no Demi-Fae has powers like the ones she had, according to what Luca and Emrys told Aelin at the beginning of HoF.

message 776: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments But Brannon's daughter Elena was half fae and her mom was a mortal so doesn't that mean he has to be at least part fae?

message 777: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Okay, we have to ask for a family/bloodline tree because this is getting confusing xD

message 778: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments Or maybe Brannon's wife had some fae heritage but I thought she was just human

message 779: by Lexie (new)

Lexie All I know is that Aelin is descended from two 'mighty' as quoted somewhere and powerful bloodlines. She has the blood of Fae Magic and Brannon's unnamed magic I think it states in HoF, making her have way more powerful magic than anyone knows. Because she has the blood of two type of magics that might be what makes her have powers like pure Fae, even though she isn't fully Fae.

Hailey | 115 comments Ale wrote: "Okay, we have to ask for a family/bloodline tree because this is getting confusing xD"

I know haha

message 781: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Lexie, she's not half. Aelin is pure Fae, even she said so when Luca asked her hehe

Hailey, shall we ask Sarah sometime soon? I think we can hahah

message 782: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments Ale wrote: "Lexie, she's not half. Aelin is pure Fae, even she said so when Luca asked her hehe

Yes haha it would clear a lot up

message 783: by R.G (new)

R.G | 4 comments ^ Guy's I think Sarah said in her recent interview that it would be clarified in later books if her faeness makes her immortal!

message 784: by Anna (new)

Anna | 142 comments Aelin does reference her immortal body several times when she s in her Fae form

Hailey | 115 comments Raman wrote: "^ Guy's I think Sarah said in her recent interview that it would be clarified in later books if her faeness makes her immortal!"

That's what I'm hoping for! I can't wait for her to learn more about it

message 786: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Raman, I asked her that question in the #ACOTARParty and yes she said it would be adressed in later books :) I hope that by Book 5 we'll know.

message 787: by R.G (new)

R.G | 4 comments That was a really good question Ale. I hope so too !! :)

message 788: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) If she is indeed inmortal it supports my love for Rowaelin as a romantic couple because they wouldn't have to worry about one dying before the other!
I think we usually forget the topic which is Rowan and Celaena haha soo let's talk about them please xD

message 789: by Hailey (new)

Hailey | 115 comments Yes we often get very off topic on this thread lol

message 790: by Liz (new)

Liz | 172 comments Because both Celaena and Rowan are such interesting individuals outside of their pairing :D

I hope Aelin is inmortal, so after her heirs are ready to take the throne she can finally go see the world like she's always wanted.

Yes! She deserves that

message 792: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Aww, Liz, I never thought about that! But now that I imagine it, it would be beautiful *-*

message 793: by Liz (new)

Liz | 172 comments I know! Aelin deserves her HEA.
Hopefully Rowan will share it with her :)

message 794: by Hailey (new)
