Hello,these records were made up from a scanlation website (the cover too) and are actually a short story never published in a real book.

859 - done because it was under 5 adds. To combine these books, the author in the first slot has to be the same, always. And then you can merge them. I also created the series, hope that's okay.

Working on 851-864 - Everything is done - 851 is going to take a while, though.852: a trick I learned at some point is you can separate a specific edition from the combine page, that would fix the problem you ran into.
855: as someone whose endless task is similar to yours (I hunt down short stories that weren't published separately) I sometimes wish we could!
859 - someone beat me to it (and don't worry, when books are merged, the reviews transfer over)

No, I only meant that merging it into the default would mean merging it into the paperback instead of the hardcover of which it was a duplicate.
(ETA The discrepancy between the default on the combine page and on the separate page was reported in Feedback at the time. Unsuspecting librarians thought they were merging into what they thought was the default but it turned out to be another edition. I see it all went well in this case :) )

#872-874T.- I have deleted the empty book records and merged the duplicate editions.
For future reference, we only make alternate cover editions when the previous cover needs to stay on Goodreads. Usually that means the book with that cover has already been distributed in some manner with advance copies or is being re-issued. Then the new edition can be made default that shows up in your profile and in searches.
Since the older covers have been on Goodreads for some time, you will need to ask Support if they will delete them instead. https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...
