Casandra Mahoney | 3 comments Hello!
I have come to ask for help, as I only vaguely remember a story I read sometime this decade (2010+) that was good and I wanted to continue, but sadly can not find again.

The only things I remember are a young-ish girl, time travel (not Outlander, I'm pretty sure), and there was a scene that she returned or something and she had to speak to her father because apparently he had also traveled to the same time. There was also a stone that I believe she found accidentally in the dirt in a building like a barn, which I believe is what sent her back in the first place and she found again at the end of the book or in the preview for the next one to return again. I keep thinking the stone was red too.
Unfortunately I can't remember anything about the time periods, but I'm pretty sure it had at least an element of romance (don't they all haha).

I appreciate any assistance!

Mai | 1280 comments I'm only mentioning this one that I found searching online because there are some similarities BUT the dad does not time travel (I think the reviews mention that the parents are dead).

The Legend of the Bloodstone by E.B. Brown (published in 2013; it is the first book of the Time Walkers series)

"Maggie McMillan is working on her farm one day in 2012, tidying out the barn, when she accidentally travels back in time to 1622. How does that happen? She simultaneously cuts her hand and touches a bloodstone."

Maybe the "bloodstone" is the red that you remember? (no idea if a bloodstone is red but there is the word blood in it so maybe!). The readers mention similarities with Outlander.

Casandra Mahoney | 3 comments Hi Mai! I think it might be!
I did try searching Amazon and Google Reads prior to posting, but couldn't find anything.

I downloaded a sample and once I can skim through it, if it is correct, I will let you know and change this to solved. Thank you!
