Looking for beta readers

Hello, all.

I am looking for some beta readers for a new short story of mine. It is an introduction to a new character that will be the protagonist of a series I'm working on. The story is a mix of fantasy, humor, and some weird elements. There are frogs, telepathy, and a revelation. The current draft is a little more than 6,000 words.

Hi Damian, have you tried joining any critique writing groups such as Scribophile or Critique Circle? They seem ideally suited to getting feedback on short stories. For a story of 6000 words I would post it to one of those sites in two parts to get the maximum amount of feedback.

Ros, yes, I'm part of an online critique group. I have had a good experience with it.

This time, I am trying to get a wider range of opinions. I might still submit my story to a critique group, but I wanted to put out a general call first. For one thing, I am looking to get feedback from people that aren't writers.

There are certain stories I wouldn't do this for, because I like to keep them more cloistered. This one is a different sort, thus I'm trying a different approach.
