Merging Author?

I have the librarian status but I have no idea how to merge authors and some of you told me, on a previous issue, that I didn't have the access I think.

So I'm appealing to you about M. Wall and Mick Wall and second Mick Wall who need to be merged.

I thought it usually depended on name used on the bookcovers, not the author website or even an author request. If bookcovers used two or more versions of author name then there should be two or more versions of the author profile. Primary author for the individual books as listed on book cover; secondary author can be name author or you wanted to merge the other variations to. All of these books seem to just use "Mick Wall" on the bookcover so you should be able to merge.

That said, it's only claimed goodreads author profiles you shouldn't be able to merge when appropriate. Unclaimed ones you can; just be careful you're not losing anything from the data/descriptions of merged profiles (copy over to profile you are merging to before the merge). In this case, I would add after merging Mick Wall's web page and other info to the very sparse profile and then click to invite him to claim the now "single" profile.

OK I have merged the main Mick Wall and M. Wall but I can't seem to find how to merge the two Mick Wall since they have the same name (well, they're the same person) but were somehow separated.

The second one had an extra space between first & last names. I merged them.
