SOLVED. Day in the life of several characters on English street, ends in tragedy [s]

This is a contemporary book set on a single street in some city in England. The viewpoint switches between multiple people on this street including a pregnant woman, a young man who takes pictures of trash, teenagers coming back from a rave, and more that I can't remember.

SPOILER:

At the end of the story a young boy on a bicycle is hit by a car.

The book did not have much of a plot but just showed a day in the life of many interesting and diverse characters. Would love to know the name of it. If I recall correctly it was a popular/high selling book, but I can't remember what year it was published.
