Okay sooo, when I picked up this book and read the synopsis I was very intrigued.

When I actually read the book I realised that I had completely interpreted the synopsis wrong, and really had no idea what was going on for the first half of the book, which is actually very refreshing and gripping!

The story: basically, Flora has anterograde amnesia. She can't remember any day-to-day things, conversations with her parents, inside jokes with her best friend.. until she kisses someone she shouldn’t, and the memory sticks with her. We go on a journey with Flora to figure out why she can remember this one thing (she hasn’t remembered anything else since she was 10!) and to figure out what is going on in her life. It is a very twisty tale, with a twist I probably should’ve seen coming – but didn’t, because I was so engrossed in Flora’s uniquely wise way of seeing the world.

In conclusion, what I liked about the story:
• Flora! She is such a gem of a character, and she is very brave, but also has short term memory loss, so isn’t always reliable when telling the story, making things very interesting to say the least.
• The writing style, easy to read and captivating – really had me hooked.
• How everything is not what it seems, and that this is not some cliché a-boy-will-save-me-from-my-problems story, which I thought it was going to be!

I feel that if I say anymore I will give away some serious spoilers – but I’m interested to know if anyone else has read this? Or is going to? I’d love to have someone to discuss with!
