She kissed him back then sat back in her seat
He smiled over at her, "Seat belt," he said with a smile and pulled his pant leg down,
She buckled up and starred out the window.
He began to drive to the morgue, and pulled in a while later,
He stepped out and went around to her side, pulling out the wheelchair,
She sat on the edge of the seat of the truck, waiting
He held out his hand to help her down and set her in the wheelchair carefully,
Once in the chair she folded her hands into her lap tightly.
He kissed the top of her head softly and walk in,
They were greeted by a young nurse dressed in pink hospital slacks. "Can I help you?"
He smiled and looked at the nurse, "Erm Yeah,"
"We need to go down to the morgue." Sarah said softly. The nurse nodded. "Name please?"
"Sarah Snow."
He smiled slightly, remembering coming here often when he was younger,
The nurse smiled sadly and tucked a folder under her arm and instructed them to follow her. "Down this way." Sarah swallowed and sighed.
Jake pushed the wheel chair while following her and kissed the top of Sarah's head
The nurse walked into the elevator and held the door open for them.
He pushed her in and bit his lip, trying to forget his memories there,
The nurse pushed a button to the basement, the doors closing and the elevator slowly descending down.
Jake took Sarah's hand nervously, smiled down at her though,
The doors opened and the nurse stepped out, leading down the hall.
Jake pushed Sarah after the nurse with a sigh as he looked around
The nurse stopped at the double doors that said 'morgue.' "They are already laid out on the tables for you." Sarah inhaled a shaky breath.
Jake took Sarah's hand and offered to help he stand up,
She looked back at him and nodded, standing up slowly.
He took her hand and put his other hand on her waist to hold her steady, then helped her walk to the table,
Sarah kept her eyes on the tiled floor as thus approached the table, not ready to look yet.
He helped her to the table and stroked her hair softly,
She slowly rose her head up, her breath coming out in clouds since the room was so cold. She let out a shuddery breath at the sight of her parents and covered her mouth.
He wrapped his arms around her could body and looked down at the man and woman laying down, he strokes her hair softly,
She shook her head and let a few tears fall down her cheeks
She reached a shaky hand out and stroked her mothers hair.
"I want to leave now." She muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.
He nodded, "alright Sarah," he said softly
She turned around and sniffed and wiped her nose on her shirt.
He helped her back into her wheelchair and took her hand,
The nurse came back up to them. "So I'm sure we'll have to discuss funeral arrangements...here's a card to the local funeral home." The nurse handed Sarah the card
He stroked Sarah's hair softly and kissed the top of her head softly
Sarah folded the card and shoved it into her pocket, not saying anything.
