Who is your favourite villain from The Faithful and the Fallen?

message 2: by Allen (new)

Allen | 2 comments Jael. Only one other time in all the books I’ve read have I been in tears over a character. I was with this guy.

Oh I hated his guts!

message 4: by Allen (new)

Allen | 2 comments Me too but that’s what made him a good villain. Maquin was my favorite character over all. I connected with him. I felt his pain and I cried with him.

Yeah I totally agree. Lykos and Jael were my favourite villains because of how woven they were to Maquin (my favourite character too) and how much pain they caused him.

Let's go with a contrary opinion: I'm going to say Nathair. Reading from the perspective of the villain and peopl..."

Nathair is a great villain! I agree, I did feel sorry for him at times, then remembered everything he'd done and that he had a chance to do the right thing. He is very three-dimensional, unlike many villains, so that gave him an extra depth. Great choice!

I read this series a few years ago and Maquin is always the character I think of!

Ah yes! My favourite character as well. The Old Wolf will always be remembered. TRUTH AND COURAGE

Im reading through the series right now. Half-way through book 3 and yes, Maquin is the absolute man. I love Balur though, but that could also be because I read the Of Blood and Bones series first and he's just untouchable.

message 10: by Richard (new)

Richard Cordell | 1 comments I have to agree as well, Maquin. Writers often create the supporting cast and they just become an instant favorite. Maquin was the one.

Nathair was more of the misguided villain, who had blinders on if i recall correctly. Then upon revelation, see that he was the bad guy in it all, played like a fiddle.

Balur is just the epitome of cool! The Old Wolf though....

Never forget the Old Wolf

message 13: by Cameron (new)

Cameron Finnie | 5 comments With regards to Nathair, one of my favourite things about this series is the way that both the hero and the villain think they are the bright star (at first at least)

message 14: by Jay (new)

Jay | 4 comments Fav Villain(s) - Lykos. I couldn't stand this #&$% and couldn't wait for him to go.

Fritha is my other. The depths which she sank to get revenge was unforgivable. She used everyone/thing.

message 15: by Maxime (new)

Maxime (mightymax) | 12 comments Having just finished book 7 (Time of Courage) about 5 minutes ago, I'm going to say Kol. I already disliked him a lot but his final act of evil almost made me throw the book into the wall. (I didn't though because John Gwynne books are to be treasured)

message 16: by Cameron (new)

Cameron Finnie | 5 comments Kol has to be the most hateable villian! That final act was infuriating.

message 17: by Tanja (new)

Tanja | 1 comments [hands over eyes and ears] la la la la la!!!! Spoilers people, spoilers!

message 18: by Lostara (new)

Lostara | 1 comments Rafe. He is not only my favourite villain, he is my favourite character. And that's because of his POV chapters, and because I always have a soft spot for conflicted characters.

James | 15 comments What happened to Fionn (Marrock's wife) after Malice, she was briefly mentioned in Valour but she was never seen again?

I just asked the man himself, and he said that she played a role in guiding people towards the resistance, but stayed doing so by Dun Carreg.

message 21: by James (new)

James | 15 comments Thanks William, I thought she might have played an important role with the resistance. Truth and Courage.

Truth and Courage! Feel free to ask any other questions :)

James | 15 comments Is there a section in this group for all things spoiler goodness? There is something about Lykos I want to get off my chest that is a major spoiler. Truth and Courage :-D

I will create one right now. I'll call it 'Spoiler Questions'

James | 15 comments What are people's thoughts of Tilda Swinton playing Rhin in the near future adaptation, she was badass in TLTWATW, and maybe Christian Bale as Lykos.

message 26: by James (new)

James | 15 comments Or Jude Law as either Evnis or Lykos

I can completely see them! Especially Tilda Swinton would be awesome as Rhin.

Jude Law is a great actor. I think he'd be great as Evnis.
