Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Dawn
Thanks,I keep forgetting that show,I guess it was really good but for some reason we didn`t have it on at my folks in those days.
Dawn remember you telling me Clair said,"tell me about your folks",when I asked you what she said in that trailer during the last episode?
I was thinking she sure made use of it in tonights episode. She said they talked about it for hours till she relaxed.I sure did like this episode and the classy way they did it,did you like it?

BSG is Battlestar Galactica. Ron Moore and his producing partner David Eick were the ones to bring back the 70's show into becoming the Peabody award winning series it became. they won all types of justified awards. sheer BRILLIANCE which began by casting one if the lead characters known from the 70's as a man....the character was a cigar smoking playboy.....enter Ron Moore and the new incarnation BSG (battlestar galactica) and the character is now a cigar smoking, hot, mouthy , alpha FEMALE! along with a femAle president. the show was water cooler fodder everywhere....and for the good. he seems to have struck lightning again with our beloved Outlander.

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Is Ron also the producer or director of Dr. Who ? I don`t pay attention to the people that do that but I know I`ll start now.Anyway I think it is a UK show too isn`t it and it is a good one everyone I know likes it a lot.
And I will have to see if BSG is still on somewhere,I guess I got so I just zoned t out since we didn`t watch it at home.I`ll have to have a little talk with my folks LOL.I don`t remember ever hearing Rons name is he a UK producer or TV guy?

I often don't pay attention to the credits (directors, producers, costumes etc), either! The production of this book to screen is a bit of an exception for me ;)

The visuals of this Garrison Episode is still etched in my brain! Because I have a weak stomach, I just sort of skimmed over it in the book! I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the even more brutal scenes that are to follow in the story. Nonetheless, I think the director for this Episode was Brian Kelly. I remember listening to an interview with Cait & Sam, they were saying that nearly every episode has a different Director (on rotation) for it. Which can have its good points & bad, as every director has there own 'methods'... Even with the slight variations to the book, this episode was excellent.
I honestly don't think they could do it much better than they have. Putting a rich in depth story such as this onto a visual medium, would have some huge challenges! I can totally accept that some things may need to be altered/condensed for that transition to be possible. The overall story is authentic to the book, that's what counts to me.
Kudos to the entire team!

The new thread was created BEFORE the show aired the first time. The problem with discussing the wedding in this thread is that in places other than the US the show airs later. Somebody may have just viewed The Garrison Commander and want to discuss it BUT not had the chance to view The Wedding and get spoilers that they did not want. We all make mistakes so I was reminding people which thread they were writing on. Check out the other thread to discuss The Wedding.

Mrsbooks | 399 comments It's pretty easy to create a new thread too if we have to.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments The thread was made, it was made before the episode aired, so please move conversation over to that thread.

Thank you, Diane, for catching that.

I'll be removing those posts from this thread to keep it clean for those who are not watching it.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments I'm feeling very much like I'm being forced to be the bad guy.

Not only was the wedding episode being discussed in this thread, but you are continuing to talk about things that happen much much further in the story, like the end!

Like Mrsbooks said, it is very very easy to create your own thread and mark it as spoilers galore in the MISC folder. If you can't help yourself, move your conversation there and that way you won't have the moderators breathing down your neck and shouting about spoilers.

This thread is for the television show, and should not be discussing anything that happens after the episode in the thread title. There are no special circumstances. If a thread has not been started, follow the layout of the previous threads and create one. Other members have.

This group has over 3000 members and not all of them know what's going to happen, and not all of them are in the USA or able to watch the episodes immediately. The rules are set up as a courtesy for all members, so there are safe zones to discuss. Please follow them.
