Literature, English, Mathematics, Life Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography and Higher Mother Tongue. In our fifteenth year we have to choose between Humanities(History, Literature or Geography) or Sciences. I'm 13 now and I totally cant wait till I get 15 cos i want to dump HISTORY!!! YIIIAARGH!! Oh and wen we are 16 we have to take national exams:(

(ps, my name is Ain)
Its similar in all schools in my country, except some of them have extra stuff. And those who score really good in the first national exam when we are 12, we get to take up third language, which i took the opportunity to study French and now i am regretting it:( I'm dumping it next year!
I really really dont get how schools in US work!! I want to write a book about a girl schooling in the US but i dont understand!! Could somebody explain pleease?

In the US we start school when we're five, it's called kindergarten. (Though some kids take preschool when they're four.) We enter 1st grade at age six, 2nd grade is 7, 3rd is 8, 4th i..."
uh...wow. i need time to digest this.

The country switches and school switches are killin' me.
In canada we don't do kindergarten, we do JK and SK. (Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten) THEN we do 1st grade, except in some provinces we do only kindergarten like in the US. So we start school when we are four... We have the same basic ES HS thingie so not much there. Don't even ask me about Uni.
