Aarati | 148 comments Ezi, I finished Archer's Voice (A Sign of Love) by Mia Sheridan and I loved it. It was a 4,5-5 starer for me! Thanks for the pick. Also thanks to Tina who picked the book for me as well.

Next off to Maximum Risk (Wolff Securities #1) by Jennifer Lowery , Katie's pick.

Group 2-Zara

I finished my first pick- Wish Upon a Tiger by A.T. Mitchell . Thanks Zara. Unfortunately, there were just too many stupid mistakes by the heroine and too much insta-love, that I could not like it.

Glad to get it off my TBR though!

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Ezi - it likely got moved to the archived folder

Katie | 2083 comments Becky -- I finished Open Season yesterday. 4 stars. It took me awhile to get into it, but I was definitely hooked by Chapter 2. I'm really enjoying Linda Howard and I'm looking forward to reading more from her. :)

message 257: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments I finished To Kill a Mockingbird today, which was recommended by Dana (and several other people). I listened to the audio version, and really enjoyed it. Sissy Spacek's narration was fabulous, with the exception of just a couple of places where the dialog got a little confusing because her character voices were very similar. That was only a very minor quibble though, not something that happened a lot.

I'm working on two other picks now, Sweet Dreams in audio and reading Obsession.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 731 comments Just finished Shifting Shadows and LOVED it! Ms. Briggs covered all of my favorite characters in several short stories. I enjoyed all of them and the deleted scenes from Silver Borne and Night Broken were a neat plus! I especially liked the insight into Warren and Kyle's relationship, although Asil and Kara's story was also very endearing. It's impossible to pick a favorite! It was a definite five star read for me.

Thanks, Jane! It was a great pick!

I finished Catching Heat today and I thought it was really cute. This is my second read by Allison Packard, and I've come to equate her with light romantic reads that make me smile. I've gone a bit out of sequence with this series, so I think I'll get to The Winning Season very shortly. I definitely want to read all the books associated with this series. *4 STARS*

message 262: by Sassafrass (new)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Tina--Group 2:

I finished That Boy yesterday and it was really cute. I loved how "that boy" ended up always being there for her and it was such the right choice to have them end up together. I don't think he was necessarily the obvious choice but he definitely was the right one. I don't want to give anything away by naming names, so I will just that "that boy" was as well received with me as the entire book was.

It's sometimes hard for me to read YA because it's usually so full of angst it bogs me down, but this one was really sweet and fun although there were definitely some gut wrenching moments. The beauty of the relationship development made all my ugly tears worth it though. :) I will definitely be continuing on with this series. *4.5 STARS*

Glad you liked it Sassafrass. I haven't read any of the Alison Packard books, but I've added it to my TBR.

Susan A | 2160 comments I finished 3 bonus picks.

picked by Shelby Yours ★★★ angsty short story, very good. I will look up more of this author's work

picked by Becky Dark Soul Vol. 5 ★★★★ I really enjoyed this series however, MAJOR spoiler if you are unfamiliar with this series (view spoiler)

picked by Preethis The Hunting Moon ★★★★ This is book1 in a series by a new to me author. Although not without faults, I enoyed this and will be looking to read the rest of this series.

Thanks for these picks.

I finished The Queen's Consorts today and it was AMAZING! I love the way Kele Moon writes. And few can write M/M/F menage the way she does (which face it, if there's going to be two M's and an F, shouldn't it be M/M/F?). *sigh* I have no idea why I wanted so long to read this, but thanks for giving me the push to get it done. I was so not disappointed. *5 STARS*

Hey I finished my first pick which was Fade to Black (Black CATs, #1) by Leslie A. Kelly | Leslie A. Kelly it was a great mystery. I liked the main characters and although I actually guessed the killer pretty early, it had me thinking a few times that I might be wrong. I gave it 4 ★

Group 2-Anita.
I finished my second pick- Louisiana Longshot (Miss Fortune Mystery #1) by Jana Deleon . Loved it a lot. This small town cozy mystery had a lot of red-herrings and was full of comedy of errors told in a sober voice that made it fun to read. Gave it 4 stars. Thanks for picking this book!

I read Bloodlust and enjoyed it. It was good to read about those Salvatore brothers. This one was set just weeks after they are turned into vampires and they head to New Orleans and run into trouble (of course). Fun, fast read. Thanks for the pick!

Group 1 - Becky

I finished The Paper Magician yesterday and liked it. The story and characters were great, but the writing left something to be desired. This was a kindle prime freebie and worth reading, but glad I didn't pay for it ;) It did leave me wondering where the sequel will take the characters though so I guess the freebie did it's job! Thanks for the pick!

Agreed, Dee. That turn sort of came out of nowhere given the buildup. But (view spoiler) I'm looking forward to what direction they take. Little apprehensive too.

message 283: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments I've finished my 2nd and 3rd picks, Sweet Dreams picked by Tina, and Heroes Are My Weakness which was MountainKat's pick. I was pleasantly surprised by Sweet Dreams - I'm kind of burned out on Kristen Ashley and her biker dude storylines, but that was more background than main focus in this one and I really liked it a lot. I also liked Heroes Are My Weakness, but it wasn't among my favorites by Susan Elizabeth Phillips...good but not great.

I'm still working my way through Obsession - I've had much more listening than reading time lately - and I've started Laid Bare in audio. I hope to finish both of those in the next day or two.

I finished Dance Upon the Air (Three Sisters Island, #1) by Nora Roberts , recommended by Diane ~Firefly~. It was very good. I really enjoyed it. Now I can finally say I've read a Nora Roberts book! Yes, I've been living on some distant planet.

Katie...I'm reading Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley as soon as I finish a book for another challenge. I'm craving a KA book. : )

Thanks for the great picks!

Hey. I just finished Teasing Trent (The Alexanders, #0.5) by M. Malone yesterday. I thought it was a great book. Turns out this version also had the first part of book 1, which made me want to continue the series. So thank you for the pick, I gave it 4 stars.

Loved, loved, LOVED, Fall from India Place. I cried like a baby, railed at the unfairness of it all, but absolutely loved every last minute of it. I just adore this series. I loved seeing Joss and Braden and the gang all grown up as well. It was so good to see them that far into the future.

Hannah and Marco...*sigh*
I was so devastated by all that went down between them, but man did they belong together. I was so happy to see that it worked out.

I can't wait to read Cole's book now. I've got so many others to read but I'm foaming at the mouth to get to it!!!

I have no idea how I sat on this book so long, but I'm glad to have been able to read it. I'm not sure how Samantha Young is going to top this one, but you know, I think I say that every time she comes out with an addition to the series. :)

*5 STARS* if you hadn't already guessed.

Glad you liked it Becky. It is my favorite of her paranormal trilogies. If you read more of them you'll notice lots of similarities between the trilogies.

I finished my third pick Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh . Thanks Sassafrass(and Aarati who also picked this book). I loved the gory scenes, the hunting and fighting scenes. I loved Elena's character. A strong, no-nonsense but practical heroine, indeed! However, I can't help but compare it to the Psy-Changelings series, and in that aspect, this book lacks a certain warmth to it that all the books in the Psy-Changelings world have. Still, I liked this book a lot, and am looking forward to see what happens to Elena and Raphael after this transition.

Thank you for pushing me to read this book. I'm sure I wouldn't have touched it for a long while otherwise!

Preethi, I know what you mean about the warmth. I think it's because of the angels vs the changelings. The changelings are all about the skin privileges and feelings. I liken the angels to the Psy in how they are cold and practical.

When I first read it, I left it mid-way then picked it up again a couple of days later. I love this series, but I too prefer the Psy-changeling series. I just love them more.

Aarati | 148 comments MountainKat, I finished One Dance with a Duke (Stud Club, #1) by Tessa Dare and really enjoyed it. I gave it 3.5 stars. It was well-written. I loved Amelia's sass and her banter with Spencer was always enjoyable. Spencer was very reserved and it took a lot of effort to just thaw him. His treatment of his horses is when you truly see the heart of the man.
Thanks for the pick.

Katie - Finished Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley . I wavered between two and three stars, eventually rounding it down. Usually KA's books make me cry (sometimes even ugly cry), but I couldn't connect with this couple. Hawk was missing that..."something"...that made me really, really care. I thought when we learned about his past that it might help, but Gwen's reaction was so witchy that I sort of checked out on the relationship. She was a TSTL hot mess. I'll cleanse myself in a review then continue with the series, because we know KA writes killer endings and suspense scenes in future books. ; )

Joyce - I'm starting Mischief in Mudbug (Ghost-in-Law, #2) by Jana Deleon now. Love this little town and the Ghost in Law series.
