I'm just going to bump this up as I'm not sure how we handle the extra pages when they start from 1 (I'm also reading a book like this)
Next time someone hijacks your thread just flag it. The moderator in this group only works part time. :)

And I did flag it. (They sent me a private message afterward asking what I was "so nervous" about and then telling me I was under a lot of stress and needed to "take care of my nerves." Guess who got flagged and blocked? People are weird.)
I have another of those Harper Perennials with a P.S. starting from 1 and I have included it in the page count, because the stuff it contains should all be included according to Goodreads policy. What is the the number of the last page of the P.S. in your book?
(Their comments in the original thread were deleted, either by themselves or by staff.)
That's how I'd add the page numbers as well. We normally include author details & reading group so I don't see it being any different.

Hello, I have a request that doesn't have to do with correction, but rather with adding page number to a certain book.
The book is in Norwegian, and is called "Yakub
beduingutten fra by nr. 36" ( Yakub, the Bedouin boy from town no.36) and is written by Mattis Mathisen.
Here's the link to a bookstore website that describes the book:
https://www.ark.no/boker/Mathis-Mathi...
I have read this exact eddition of the book a few months ago, and added it to the dtabase recently. However, since I am not a librarian, I cannot add page numbering, which I still want to have for my reading challlenge.
Therefore, I'd like to ask one of the Goodreads librarians to add the page number to this book if possible.
The book contains 109 pages.
Thank you in advance.
Toma, please always provide the ISBN of the book when asking for a page count addition or change. A link to the book on Goodreads is also appreciated. Bookstores are not an allowed source for bookdata. Also, this thread is linked to a specific book. Please start a new thread.

The second section of numbered pages goes to 23, so that would come to 380 in total.

So going back to the original query...I was wondering if it is definite we add the original pages. I remember being told we didn't add Roman numeral pages as GR didn't want to make working out page numbering a mathematical exercise.
We do add unnumbered (or renumbered) pages at the end, although not at the beginning. (The number of pages for which anyone has to do arithmetic is far smaller, among other reasons.)

Thanks rivka!

GR has 400, book in hand in this edition is 357 for the text. There is a "P.S." section after with a meet the author, reading group guide, etc, but the page numbers start over from 1 for that section.
