Yeah I had a bit of sickness earlier in month and kids is teething and have colds but other than that we have been ok

Page 19 and I'm interested to see where all this is going but really enjoying it and a bit better than orphan masters son - it is a good book but just better with the short chapters Deffo with everything how it is just need to be able to say I can stop now as its end of the chapter

Anyway gonna try and read more tonight before death in paradise starts at 9.

I have finished this. I really enjoyed how the story unfolded from both perspectives. Really sad though.

I have read other Isabel Ashdown novels, she is very readable. Very down to earth books about people and their struggles. It is sad.

page 75 - Jake, Christmas 1984

Finished this one yesterday. I was getting a little lost with what was happening where at the start of chapters. I probably should have paid more attention to the dates in the chapter titles. I really enjoyed it though. I don't want to say anymore than that so I don't ruin it :)

It is a emotionally intelligent book.

I liked how she did the timelines. One perspective moved forwards slowly, whereas the other skipped forward more quickly. It was clever how they joined up.

Finally read this. Really enjoyed it from the first, it was hard to put it down. I thought she wrote jake really well, mary wasn't so strong- but great picture of a dis functional family.

I gonna read something else then come back to it. I love this book but I need to concentrate on it and at the moment I can't fix my mind on the book x so half way but I will read it very soon :)

I really enjoyed this story and the boys are very brave and strong characters they been through a lot but they always there for each other and close to parents even after what happens

Totally worth reading

I think the book shows the complexity of family love and loyalty. Children are amazingly forgiving of their parents.
