I read the synopsis and it looks really good! I'm in :DBut can we wait a little before we start this one? If you don't have a problem with it, that is :)
Because I really cannot read as much as I could, my tuition started too so that's another 2hours gone! And I started this book last night for a Crime challenge that's due by the end of the week. I doubt I'd be able to make it but I still gotta try :P
What all books are you reading at the moment BTW?
I understand! I've put Ulysses on hold for a few days too, only reading that crime book.Let's start this sometime in December or January? I have semesters in December and then we might go out for a holiday. If we don't, we can start this in December :)
I have to read it within the next week only for a challenge :| Tell you what, we'll read another book or we can discuss this one later whenever you finish it :)
Oh, you go ahead then, we can put a hold on the discussions part :)I don't think I can manage a lot of books right now, I have internals going on and once they're done with, presentations and externals. So I'm packed for two months but I will try to read this one soon, looks interesting :D
December will be the real deal for me! It wouldn't have been such a dread had our professors this sem been easy :\When do you have your semesters?
Oh, all the best :)LOL, that happens with us too! As if that wasn't enough, most of the time, the syllabus they give is so vague -_-
LOL, seems like "you're on track!" :PLet's squeeze Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold in our reading schedule next year :D
Mine are still on! Plus I have some other things on top of it. But I'm free for a couple of days until the en of this week. I've already started a book but let's read something else if you want to. I've started A Painted House by John Grimshaw. It's a mystery crime book I've got to read for a challenge.Wanna join? Or wanna read something else? :)
I've been busy with college, exams presentations and all! I've been missing ipshi too. But my exams start tomorrow So I won't be able to read much.Ipshi, let's revive the thread in 19days, shall we? Still a mess, this one. Let's make fresh lists and start soon :)
I did not see a single notification regarding this thread. Sorry for being late :PI agree with you, buddy. It's really the season of revival it seems. We'll start after your exams end. All the best for your exams, Ishu!
Thanks you both :)Buddy, I didn't either. I keep having to check on the group discussions thread. I can do some light reading while these are on. But I won't be able to read fast so you'd have to bare with me if you want to start something. I'm game!
And oh, I highly recommend you start the Philo Vance series by S. S. Van Dine. The one I'm reading is the first in the series. The language is simply amazing! And he's so fascinating! I'll continue the series and I'd love if you'd wanna join too :)
No need to worry about speed, I'm pretty busy with college and fest so I'll also be reading at a leisurely pace. Then I'll start reading the Philo Vance series tomorrow or the day after :)
I knew you would. The language and the writing are amazing, aren't they? :DI'm 17 chapters in. Been slow but can't put down when I do start. I have a 2 day gap for my next English paper so I hope to finish it but no pressure on you :)
Vance is amazing, to be put simply. There've been points I loved him and now, being in so far, I've started hating him for all the suspense he's keeping us in!
Oh and buddy, let's do A Christmas Carol after exams. It's short, about a 100 pages so we can finish it just in time for Christmas :DI've been waiting on it for soooo long and I think it's also one of the group reads in one of the groups I don't remember (not that we're much active anywhere else :P).
And then we can either continue the Philo Vance series or we could help each other complete any last minute challenges we have left before starting a new one :P
I finished The Shining. It was quite good, but I found the starting quite boring :| But the story really picks up after that, I expected it to be more scary though.I don't think I can manage PI this year :(
And we can probably start Christmas Carol by next week.
It's okay about PI. Shining didn't scare you? I for one was was scared of closed doors for weeks! And dark. And scared to sleep alone :PBut Anirudh overplayed it a little, lol.
Not next week, can we start 19th please? That is the last of my papers.
How far in on the Benson?
Sure, 19th will be better for me too, since I've got annual function and college fest to prepare for before that. I'm in chapter 5 now.
Ahh I'm lagging behind in the Benson Murder Case book due to all the other books I have to finish by this year. I really hope you won't mind if I go at a slower-than-a-snail pace >.<
It's okay, take your time. I already completed the book 2 days ago :)It's absolutely brilliant! I loved it! Now I'm starting another classic mystery for the same challenge I read this one for. This challenge is super exciting! But I guess I won't be able to lure you into reading this one with me. Sad :P
And I bought 2 new books yesterday ^_^ my first time at a second hand book store and I absolutely loved it! The books were in such good condition and so affordable!
As alluring as you are, my love, I really won't be able to take on any new book; my reading schedule is packed :PWhich books did you get?
One hundred years of solitude (read?) and Death in Holy Orders by P. D. James. You heard she recently passed away?
Hey buddy! How're ya? :)So my exams ended today. I am all set to finish the year with a mind blowing book. What do you say?
One hundred years of solitude is also on my TBR, but I thought you didn't like fantasy...?I had not heard of P.D.James' death (crime writers and their works are your specialty after all).
About buddy read, I have accepted 3 review requests that I'll have to finish in the next couple of weeks, plus my challenges....so it's a tight pack. Will you be interested in reading any of the following books with me?Demonosity
Tangled [Maybe this one would interest you, it's got a hot hero ;) ]
Chat Love
Well I don't and I won't say I am really liking it too. I'm only 6 pages in and I haven't it picked up again in days! I wanted to try it out of curiosity since it's so talked about :\Well I have been reading crime novels for the past couple of months on a stretch :P
I am packed too. I've got 3 books to complete for a challenge that ends by the end of December!
I'd love to read anything with a hot hero in it, my lady ;)
But not this week, I'm afraid! First week Jan?
Sure. But since I've got to finish those three books by the end of December, we can decide on other books later and also edit our BR reading list.Oh and have a wonderful Christmas! :)
@Ishu My Christmas involved an early morning tuition and a 24-hours raging headache -_-Oh but I did receive a lovely present. New headphones ^_^
