Pack for? Going somewhere?Okay then let's postpone PI for another week. Let's see if you can read this week, else I'll complete my current reads and then we can start the new ones together :)
Polo- great :D how many chapters are there in the first one? :P didn't see, sorry!
I'm on schedule though. Completed chapter 8. I'm reading along one other book that I've been procrastinating upon. I decided I'll take that one chapter a day along with two of these (or more if I get time). I'll never get around to finishing that one otherwise. It's a self help and I hate that genre. Makes me feel like some sad, suicidal sociopath .___.
Lol!
Ishu- 11 chapters in Part one. That's why you didn't come across that maybe. :PWith MB, I think for me, its better to read a good deal of chapters till I decide to stop. Because the next time I take up the book and start from where I left it the last time, I feel disoriented with the story, and a lot of time gets wasted that way in reviving my interest back to the book. But once I make a start, the book grips me right on spot. :)
How are you liking it, Ishu? :)
Ishu- I hate Self-help too. I never completed any, Alchemist being an exception though. But again it wasn't proper self-help too, thank God! :P
Polo- oh, I might complete the first part as well today then!Well that's true for almost every book, I suppose. Or else it has to be a pretty darn good one to not have to do that, lol :D
For me it's more like, I can read unless I don't want to anymore. Provided, I'm interested in it. And if I am interested, doesn't matter if I pick it up the next day or the day after, I still feel a little attached since I never really got the story out of my head In the first place. This is one such book so to answer your question- yes, I am liking it very much :)
I do complete the books I don't like but that's mostly just out of habit or the fact that I just cannot leave a book unfinished! The ones I've read once already might become exceptions.
Alchemist is philosophy. It's nothing like self help. And the one I am reading? It sometimes becomes spiritual, sometimes self help and sometimes a supernatural memoir! All the things I hate -_-
And to too that-it was written by a preacher!! Had I had any idea the book was such, I would've never bought it! The name sounded so interesting :\ I was deceived -_-
I didn't read the synopsis :\I didn't know of the book unless I saw it! And it was in the psychology section so I thought it must have something to do with that ;_;
And the author puts Dr. infront of his name -_- I was so utterly deceived ;_;
I always check the synopsis and genres both that's why :| And really, a minister turned author :| So let's add Dr. too! -_-
I do too but I didn't plan to go to the bookstore that day. I went with mom because she had to buy something and Crossword just happens to be in the store. I didn't want my mum to see me there again so I sneaked and quickly bought it :P
I can't help it when I'm there :PEven when I'm shopping there, I always manage to sneak in a book :P
Plus, being a member, discounts and redemption options have a charm for you ^_^
I think I like book shopping at least :P ^_^And yeah! My dad is in the book's business so he always get at least some discount when he buys books for me ^_^
Ipshi, I know you're on vacation (hope you're having fun :D) but reply to this whenever you can. I have to ask you something :)
I finished SoaT. (It gets better ipshi!) I enjoyed it towards the end. A 3 starer for me. I'll put the review later.
Hey Polo :)I haven't been reading that one much :P ipshi wasn't here so I slacked :P
I'll complete it this week though :)
Ipshi's on vacation, she'll be back soon :)
I saw your review is up! Haven't read it yet :P

Ha ha! :D Yeah, I can't write a review once I jump to another book, so posted it before beginning E&P. ^_^ :D
Ya, I heard she is on vacation. And that slack is totally justified. :P
Waiting to know how y'all like it! :) :)
Ishi wrote: "Haha :P All 6 are on pause Polo :P In a slump, remember?"
*salutes* I could never do two books on the same day.. :| :P

Exams! :| So reading as much as I can before returning to college. :) :)
Ishi wrote: "Arre don't worry. You'll do great :)"I haven't properly studied for a month or so, dunno what's gonna happen! I hope I pass somehow, BFF! :(
Bo BFF, you're worrying too much..You must have studied something each day :) After E&P, start taking time out for studies :)
I know you'll do fine :)
Hello my love and fellow buddy readers! ^^I want your reading updates. Have you all finished Mockingbird?
@Ishu I've finished reading SoaT. It does get better, but I sort of wanted Bruno's father's murder to also be little more thrilling. I really didn't think Guy had it in him to actually kill a person though, but I guess he was feeling too desperate and trapped. Didn't the ending feel anticlimactic?
It does, right? And as for the events being undramatic- that's what's wrong with the book! Everything is just so easy! The way he found Miriam, the way the two murders took place, the way Bruno died.. Everything was just too.. Simple!I knew Guy wasn't very strong. So I could only tell that he'd break under pressure because one thing I knew for a fact was Bruno is crazy! And he had it in him to break Guy. And Voila! He succeeded!
The end was anticlimactic but it was a shocker! Gerrard actually understood Guy's situation? Woah! I bet even Bruno couldn't have guessed he'd react like that- he was smart but he wasn't very.. 'Insightful'
How many stars? :D
And I missed you ^_^
I missed you too ^^Good review BTW. Quite incisive.
I gave it 3 stars though two and a half would have been better. I just couldn't rate it lower than 3 since I noticed so many other readers raving about the book.
How was the trip? :DI gave it SEEMINGLY 3 stars too. I would've given it 2.5 but that's not possible so.
I was actually really disheartened when I finished the book though not as much as in the start. I'd heard so much about the author and she's so well acclaimed but I just couldn't see ye reason "why?!". I even read a lot of other reviews trying to figure it out but I concluded people only liked it for the psychologically sick protagonists. Had I only focused on that I would've loved it but that one things about the ease of events irked me a bit too much.
The trip was great. I'm all tanned :PI agree with you about the psychologically sick protagonists. But with such a weak beginning the story needed some twists and turns to make me feel even the least bit of intrigue. I read this romanctic suspense recently and even in that I felt much more suspense and thrill than in this one which is supposed to be a crime-novel written by one of the most remarkable mystery writers.
Tab always reminds me of the saloon I can never visit again :POh she's not a mastery writer. She's known for her psychological thrillers. The former was evident in her work but I couldn't find the latter. I'd call it a crime novel at the most. But again, I've heard The Ripley series is her epitome. I hope that does remarkably well!
What was the name of the book? Do you want to experiment with Ruth Randell too? I have to read one of hers for a challenge in one of my Crime Groups.
And can we start Shining next? Cyndi is waiting for me to start that one :P
Or do you have any other in mind?
Gosh, I have so much to talk about with you :P
Check out the Banned Books groups! I want to read all of those too! There aren't very many and I've already read 2, going on 3rd :P
We can do Shining next. Let's do a romance novel after that. And the romantic suspense I was talking about is this one- Mr. PerfectAre you finished with Mockingbird?
No, I kinda slacked on that one :PBut I have a little less than a 100 pages left. How about you?
Okay, let's start the day after. I only have the last 2 chapters of PI left. Also, let's read a little MB tomorrow (if you're not already done). What say?
And I have that on my TBR :P
Which romance do you wanna start? ^_^
I have a list of books I wanted to talk to you about. Let's discuss that when you feel like :)
I have around 130 pages left of MB. We'll start Shining on 16th then? And I'm up for discussions about romances whenever ^^
Since I'm reading KK now and after JJ, I'll read Wake for me so let's start that one, maybe next week?
So let's finish MB this week and start Shining on 16th too :)Are I was talking about our thread's TBR, from all genres that is :P
Let's do that. Do you have to read the author's name starting with KK or the book's itself?
BTW have you read The Curious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
It can be the author's name or any two consecutive words in the Story's name having the same letter. I'm reading The Krishna Key. And yep, I've read Jekyll and Hyde, but that was about 6 years ago or so.
Nope, it's for II. I plan to read the JJ book within this week so we can read the II next week. Which book do you want to re-read?
